Hello Templer,

We're working on non-widescreen support at the moment. Unfortunately we didn't manage to fit it for the release, but rest assured it will be provided in a patch very soon.

Here's a screenshot of my development environment. As you can see, I'm working on that, along with localisation support [;)]

Cheers,

I'm already a little disappointed because of that.

I understand how you feel but, trust me, we tried to cram as much as we could for the release and we would have had to sacrifice lots of other features if we wanted to get support for non-widescreen on day 1. The game features lots of screens, so it takes a considerable amount of work.

In any case, I've sent you a PM. If you're interested in testing an interim build with non-widescreen support so that we can shake out the bugs before the public release, then please drop me a line and we can arrange something.

Apologies again for this.

ONLY 1280x720 !

No mention of that on the product / buy game now page, it only says requires resolution of 1024x768 or higher which states that it supports 1024x768 and implys that it supports multiple resolutions above this.

Disappointed if this is the case.

Also if this is the case you should clearly state it on the product / buy game now page and I would recommend you ensure it is on the Steam product page when released on Steam or be ready for a lot of irate posts.

Hello Wolfe,

The game supports any 16:9 widescreen resolution. Templer's computer doesn't support high resolutions, so that's why he's getting 1280x720 as the only option in the launcher menu, which shows different options based on your graphics card/monitor combination.

The game at the moment supports any 16:9 resolution from 1366x768 upwards. I always play it at 1920x1080.

I'll ask Marketing to update the product page tomorrow to state that non-widescreen support will be added in a post-release patch but, if you have a widescreen monitor, feel confident that the game will support it and it will look great.

Thanks, panic averted [:)]

I'd just been posting over on the Steam forum how I liked the Matrix / Slitherine policy of no pre-orders precisely because you didn't end up with any nasty surprises once the game had been released, you could instead check initial reactions and then make your decision.

Hopefully Templer doesn't have to wait too long.

What about 1920x1200? Does the game support that resolution, please?

Hello jglazier,

I cannot be 100% sure. From what I read online, that's ultra widescreen and yes, the game should support it by scaling the graphics.

See if your computer supports any of the this resolutions. If it does, then you have nothing to worry about. If it doesn't, then drop me a line via private message and I'll send you a small test application so that we can find out!

Don't worry, I am playing BASPM using 1920x1080 ingame resolution on my 16:10 screen whose native resolution is 1900x1200 and everything is running fine for both full screen and windowed mode.
But I would really appreciate a specific 1920x1200 resolution available in the future; things would look much better me think. [:D]

Widescreen is a nice option, but most users still do not use any widescreen Monitor. Or I'm wrong here?
If I'm right, was it the "right" decision to release widescreen first?

Hello,

My screen is a 16:10, I'm running Win7 in 1650x1080 px, and I have no issue playing BASPM full screen with the 1600x900 "non-windowed" (full screen) setting. The interface is clear, doesn't seems too stretched and the result is definitively playable. [8D]

You're wrong.
Wide Screen has been the norm for at least the last 5 years, maybe more.

Widescreen displays are by far the most common in use these days. This is partly driven by a lot more laptops, but the majority of monitors are 16:9 or 10 and have been for many years now. According to the Steam Survey numbers 1/3 of all players are using 1080p alone.

I had the same problem (Screen Un-Centered), but found a solution on the BASPM Configuration/Graphics thing which pops up after clicking on PLAY SPM button. Simply check mark the Windowed Box, this solved all problems. Game is centered, and is working as wide-aspect (1280x720).
I left my Monitor Screen Resolution (located in Control Panel) at 1280x780 (I am using Windows 7). Not perfect, but sorta works...
