Endurance doesn't recover after timeout?

Post by GlennN »

I had a key play late in the game and my receivers were showing they were tired, so I took a timeout to rest them. The play selection screen was then still showing the receivers red or yellow after the timeout. Unless they are hurt, or in bad condition, shouldn't a timeout allow the player to recover to full endurance?

This probably falls under a customization feature.

Endurance Overview

Post by BCtheQB »

Actually there should a be a diminishing return as the game wears on along these lines

kickoff 100% - fbpro used a 5% penalty for the road team to afford home field advantage

Game breaks
1st Q +20
halftime +20%- wouldnt mind insuring a maximum couldnt be recouped
3rd Q +15 %
4th Q +10%

timeouts should help but unless in the first quarter, they should never get everyone back up to top speed.
a game consists of 60-80 plays on offense or defense, of 5-15 seconds of all out exertion each play

A two minute NAP would not recover a player fully let alone a timeout

Any fatigue setup should force coaches to employ depth, via alternate personnel packages
or attempt to corner the market on marathoners,or risk lowered performance and injury.
And if you are able to find a power back, with great endurance, in this model he could begin
to dominate the fourth quarter, as franchise backs do almost by defintion.

if this seems too complex, then fatigue really ought not be in the game
or be a toggled option but this is how it works in real life.

BCtheQB, I had not really thought of it that way, but that does make some sense. I still would like to see the status change color (at least go from red to yellow after the timeout), but you have a good point.

Yeah, it should make some difference to fatigue regardless
Timeouts should have more value than just a deep breath for the coach
or time conservation
