OT: BackBreaker

Post by therhino »

Maximum Football may not be the only footbal game on the PC for long. http://www.backbreakergame.com/ This will be on the Xbox360, PS3, Wii, and PC. It has NextGen graphics for every platform. I just found it and don't know what to think. I may buy it, but Maximum Football will still be number 1 for me.

All looks a bit futuristic for my taste

I like football as it is...
not something that looks like its set in the year 2150

Yes I'll probatbly buy it for the xbox 360, but football should be football
I mean whats with all this robot style body armour

I have been following Backbreaker for a while.

It started as a demo of the technology and is being built into a game.

Thats what I was thinking. I am not really in to the huge players and stuff, but it unfortunatly might take away former Madden owners who are buying a new PC football game. Local8h, I have never heard of BCFX before. Is it for the PC?

You may not even be able to take the crazy looking visors off the helmets. If thats the case then I won't even think about buying it. I like the graphics, but not the "future" look.

I don't think Backbreaker will be available for the PC

I did see like 1 or 2 articles that had the PC logo in available platforms section

This is where I say the PC, but not sure now that I reread it. http://www.naturalmotion.com/news.htm I did see some other stuff saying it would be on the PC, but nothing for sure.

This is the firat I've seen, but it seems to be really nice graphically.  I wonder how customizible it is (i.e. Canadian football rules and team graphics) and how much depth there is to the game (stats and management features in addition to pretty graphics)?  I hope that Dave doesn't lose out with these new products coming out.

Back Breakers currently isn't scheluled for the PC only the Xbox 360 and PS3. It may still be on the PC, but I doesn't look promising. If it is on the PC I won't buy it unless it's moddable. I get bored with games I can't edit lol. That is one of the reasons I love Maximum Football.

I wish these companies all the success. The Black College game would be the only NCAA game on PC if im not mistaken. So hats off to them for giving us some attention.

If the BCFX game is reasonably priced, I would probably buy it just to check out, and to support a company that develops for the PC.

However, my current loyalties are with Emperor Winter of the Canadian Empire

I see Backbreaker listed on game sites as being for the PC, XBox 360, and PS3.  In the Backbreaker forums, only the XBox 360 and PS3 are mentioned.

The company is working with nVidia, so who knows what will come of it.

local8h,

I heard about this awhile ago but can't seem to find any good reviews or anything.

Seeing as though I played for an HBCU (Norfolk State) I am very interested. Black College Football is more than a football game it is an experience. If anyone ever has the chance to see one the the "Classic's" I would suggest you go.

My first "big time" experience was when we played Hampton University in the Battle of the Bay. Sold out 36,000 standing room only, celebrities everywhere. Coming from a small town I had never experienced anything like it.

Even the bands battle it out. Many of the fans actually come to see the bands too.

BackBreaker could be a 64 bit game for the PC if they really put the effort into it.
