4th down situations

Post by mudrick »

I really don't know what it could be. I can't get the profile to listen to 4th down scenarios. Even if it is the only group present, when I test, it comes up blank. The only time it works is when I use "Down by 11+" And then it uses that for every situation. Whether I'm down by 11 or not. Like I said, it does not see my 4th down groups and I do not know why. It also does not see 4th down groups from plans made by others. Everyone is not having this problem, right?

it seems hit or miss.  sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.  the only sure way to make them work is to be extremely detailed within the group.  this of course, will create hundreds of situations in a playbook and a ton of work.

you're not alone mudrick. We likely will have to accept that 'coaches' in MaxFB are flaky.

They sure use timeouts ineffectively.

The way I used to compensate for this was to give each team 5 time outs per half by editing the league dbase. Worked great and teams would have time outs left deep in the 4th quarter. However, with the current build that is no longer possible. The line is still there to be edited, but when you do it automatically adds an extra line, does funky stuff with your standings and also resets to 1 time out per half.

This may not impact your situation, mudrick, but as a rule of thumb, I do not believe it is a good idea to use ANY as a wildcard for Down or ANY for a 4th Down situational designator.  It creates too many problems, and the AI will not kick in to kick field goals when needed.

4th down situations must be detailed in order to work well, and leaving the low clock situations black will give the AI a chance to kick late field goals.
