Below is the schedule for week 7:
Bears over the Eagles- This is a no brainer. The Eagles have packed it in and just want to go home. I actually thought they could be a playoff team before the season started. (Their players ratings are basically the same as Baltimore's) The Bears are competing for the West title and aren't going to lose at home to this bunch. Besides, the Bears have the best defense in the league and the Eagles offense is painful to watch.
Cardinals over the Packers- Green Bay's offense is decent but their defense is porus. The Cardinals are finally playing the way I thought they would before the season started. I felt like they would compete for 2nd or 3rd place in the West.
Titans over the Giants- Yes you read it right. This could be the upset special of the week. The Titans are playing very well right now and the game is at the Polo Grounds. Two weeks ago they lost to the Giants at Yankee Stadium 28-20. The Titans lead 17-7 in the second quater. They have a chip on their shoulder being the second team in town. The Giants are the darlings of New York- they play at Yankee Stadium. The Titans play at the dreary Polo Ground in Queens. The Giants get the big writeups in the Times while the Titans get small articles on page 4 of the sports section. They're tired of hearing about the Giants! BUT, the Giants just destroyed the Yanks 52-0 so they have swagger.
Steelers over Yanks- The Yanks got dismantled at New York 52-0 last week. The Steelers gave a good effort in their 30-17 loss to the Redskins. The Steelers are due for a win.
Lions over Texans- This is the stink bomb for the week. The 2 teams are so bad, the game could end in a tie. I'm predicting Detroit just because they are at home and they seem to play less bad at home than they do on the road. The Texans are pathetic on the road.
Rams over the Oilers- The Oilers are on a down slide after opening the season at 4-0. During the 4-0 run they feasted on the Texans twice, killed Detroit 40-12 and beat the Cardinals 45-7 in a game that got out of hand early. Since then they have lost to the Cardinals 23-7 in Chicago and to the Bears 21-14 at home. They're on the road again against the best offense in the league. The Oiler defense is very vulnerable to the run and the Rams run the ball very well.
Redskins over the Colts- This is the first game for the Colts against a team with a winning record. The Colt defense is suspect. Sammy Baugh and company should be able to move the ball against the Colts. The Colts have not played against a defense as good as the Redskins.
Should be an interesting week.
