Not seeing enough Sacks

Post by Brockleigh »

Hey folks,

When I've been playing games with my Canadian 1 playbook, I rarely ever see the QB get sacked. Nor do I see the QB scramble. I'd be tempted to say it's a problem with my constants file, however when I play an American game using Hack's playbooks, there's usually about 4 sacks in total per game.

The Logic on the last point on the QB Pattern on most of the plays in that playbook is usually:

Wait 1 Second
Pass- Read

... with reads to usually 4 different receivers.

Defensively, I'm trying different attack angles by the down linemen, line stunts, inside and outside blitzes from the LBs, and nothing is really working.

Are there any tips when creating playbooks to getting more effective pressure on the QB? Conversely, is there something I can add, change or take away from the QBs so that more sacks can be seen?

I'm trying to build an Indoor playbook, and I'd like to avoid having the same pressure issue with this one too. Should anyone want to check out the playbook to tinker with it, it's hosted on FBMax's and MaxMykal's sites.

Let me know. I'm very interested in the feedback.

IMO 4 sacks in a game are very good number. But i am not real familiar with the canadian game and i have opened the PDS the last time more than a year ago so i am no help.

One of the problems is that the defender holds up when the QB begins to throw the ball.

But if he's hit when he throws, you have a fumble, whether his arm is moving forward or not.

There are not enough animations in the game to go by the animation.
