Continental Football League

Post by Argyle1968 »

My take on the 1960's "ContFL". Color photos of these teams are impossible to find, so the color schemes are done with liberties.

Here're the Indianapolis Capitols and Oklahoma City Plainsmen. In my fictional universe, I'm still leaning toward calling OKC the "Rustlers".

Very nicely done.
The great thing about MaxFB is that you can create your own football universe and dress your teams any way you want to.

Thanks. I'm still tweaking them. When I get to the point where I am satisfied with them I will upload to FBMAX.

Here's two more--Seattle Rangers vs. San Antonio Ramblers. The helmets are authentic--the Rangers and Ramblers both played in the ContFL, albeit the Ramblers were located in Orange County, California. I guessed at the uniforms based on the helmet colors and the general type of uniform style worn at the time. As with all of these "Continental Football League" teams I'm working on, there just aren't many good pics from which to make educated guesses, so I guess you'd call these fictional teams.

I'm getting ready to upload some uniforms at FBMAX. Here are some more I've been working on--from left to right, the Tampa Bay Thunderbolts, Atlanta Aeros and Houston Apollos.

Again, the idea is to present a 1960's type of look.

I've uploaded 8 uniforms to FBMAX.  These are now in the unsorted files section:

Atlanta_Aeros_ContFL_fictional.zip
Houston_Apollos_ContFL_fictional.zip
Indianapolis_Capitols_ContFL_fictional.zip
Minneapolis_Lakers_ContFL_fictional.zip
Oklahoma_City_Plainsmen_ContFL_fictional.zip
San_Antonio_Ramblers_ContFL_fictional.zip
Seattle_Rangers_ContFL_fictional.zip
Tampa_Bay_Thunderbolts_ContFL_fictional.zip

I'll upload a few more after some tweaking.

Also--the original ContFL had many real (as opposed to these, most of which are fictional or semi-fictional) franchises over its five years of existence, and as I am able to crank out those unis I will upload them.  Enjoy.
