Now for something completely different. 40-man rosters, finances ON. The top TEAM payroll is the Brooklyn Robins' ($18,678). The Pirates have a payroll of $12,174. We rank 4th in the pre-season power rankings.

St. Louis, Wednesday April 14. We open with a 4 game series against the Cardinals. Wilbur Cooper vs Jesse Haines. 44 degrees, with a 10 mph wind in from CF. The Pirates win 7-2. WP: Cooper LP: Haines
