My Battle of Moscow Screenshot:)

It is commonly believed that a German player alone could almost "neutralize" russia by encircling Moscow, but he should never try to assault it.

But as a matter of fact I encircled Moscow and assaulted it only twice, killed 37 russian units and lost less than 10. After Moscow fell, I could move >20 powerful divisions to the Western Front and significantly improved my overall situation.

This time I played against AI as normal level, tried the strategy of Spain-Gibraltar-Egypt-Iran. Early in the game I completely controlled Mediterenan and occupied Britain islands. later, my powerful "Indian Ocean Army Group" (1 armor & 7 infantry) joined Barbarossa from Iran & severely mauled the russian productivity. Supply for this army had always been a pain but once it had fuel, it just deep penatrated & took all russian factories around Ural.[:D]

I concentrated my early research on the U-boats and tanks. Right now my U-boats had 4 evasion & 4 naval attack( a 100% kill against transports). Once a U-boat even survive a 1:3 battle against destroyers and damaged one of them! My tanks now are 10 evasion and 10 land attack, the clear tech leader in the world.

It's Spring 1944 now, WA could only occupy south Gibratar( I forgot to take it) but my forces are preparing a decisive attack next turn against this feeble force (3-4 land divisions and no armor). My U-boats controlled the Atlantic and not a single Transport coud survive a cross trip. With 16 King Tier armor divisions and the most powerful & most advanced strategy bombers (range 4), I wonder how WA could even step on the European soil again. I am still researching and producing my dear U-boats!

Mybe I could try to land in USA with my King Tigers and try to take Washington? [&:]

Nice! It's hard to take Moscow effectively and hold on everywhere else. Nice screen shots!

hmm, methinks you have been tinkering with some of the game options (supply/attack/transport). lol

but seriously, if legit, and unless the Japanese are hiding on Honshu, you are looking at an Axis Decisive in Spring 44! Congrats.

not THAT bad, since ----

1) I had enough Support Trucks to repair those important railroads damaged by partisans (not much on East front so I could just leave France & England alone for turns)

2) I have partisan everywhere now but it's because I just concentrated all my East front troops to assault Moscow. Normally russian partisans would be taken care by local rserves

3) Since the russian war is actually over and I don't think it's easy to get an Auto Victory (that way I have to repair many factories in russia) , I could just ignore all East patisans and send all my troops to the West.

4) I leave Spain conpletely unoccupied for years, but the (>30) partisans there still have done nothing to hurt me (I don't need the railroad there anymore after I put a Transport near Gibraltar)

I didn't attack USSR until Summer 1942.

The key is to secure Mediteranean first so I can use all the troops there.

Then I send a decent expedition army (1 armor & 7 or 8 infantry) to attack caucasus from Iran. That way you could not only secure the 6 resources there but also really threaten the russian railine and Ural factories.

I found russian AI could not handle this situation very well (a human player would try to destroy my expedition army at all costs):it just concentrated troops around Moscow too early and left me space to connect the 2 fronts and break through to the Ural factories. AI also retreated from Leningrad after it saw my assault plan on that city, thus made my job much easy. Basically the russian AI played like a coward.

Strong U-boats and occupation of Britain also would make the West front relatively quiet and give you almost a full year to concentrate on east front. In any cases, if a German player could attack USSR using all his land/air power, then I must say russians will have a very very hard time.
