At sea combat bug

Post by hickmanj »

I have a stuck game.

The issue is: I moved a transport into the sea zone by Leningrad/Sweden - there was a Russian Light Fleet there but it had already fired for the turn. Now the phase won't end b/c it keeps saying: combat expected but all the options are greyed out. I have no planes in range or any way of initiating further combat and it won't let the ship just sink my transport.... so my game is stalled.

I didn't take time to read the billion posts - so don't know if this has already been pointed out.

We need more info. I don't understand the situation. What side are you, who's turn is it. What unit just moved? Can you post or email a save? We need to know more about this in order to figure out what went wrong. The more info that better. Thanks.

It's Germany's turn. I am Germany. I moved a transport into the sea zone by Sweden/Leningrad (the Soviet fleet is there: 1 light cruiser).

The transport allowed me to send supplies to Leningrad - but it also created the combat icon (1/2 of each nationality with explosion side-bar)

All options on the combat sidebar are greyed out. It won't let me attack but keeps telling me the phase isn't over due to combat needing resolved. However the Soviet Light Cruiser has already fired for the turn and the transport (Germany's) obviously has no combat capability.

I cannot post a save game as the game is on our desktop in another room - I could perhaps burn a CD and try to post it here tomorrow.

Thank you for the info, no need to send a save. I discovered two bugs when I tried to test a similar situation. First, the op fire at the supply should have aimed at the transport and not the supply (when the supply moved through the area). Second, we need a way to get your transport to be forced to attack. We will fix these. I'm afraid you need to go back to your last save and not move the transport in with the enemy fleet. If Op fire was working, it would have been sunk by the enemy fleet when the supply moved through.

Glad to help.

This game is wonderful. All of you deserve the highest praise! For its intricate nature - this game shipped remarkably stable.
