IOE net games can be played with Gamespy

I of the Enemy is a unique real-time strategy game that focuses on a strong campaign story and tactical fighting as opposed to seeing who can collect resources the fastest.

IOE net games can be played with Gamespy

Post by mlmckeown »

We need to setup a regular time to play IOE using Gamespy
Arcade. If any one is up for a game with IOE demo. I'll be
online this Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM EST ...

I play Texas Hold-um at night ... when I have free time

IOE Ril'Cerat won't work with GameSpy, at least it wasn't supposed to work. Did you find some way around this? Now that I think about it, the only thing stopping you might be that the Arcade program was not included.

I'll have to check this out. It's no big deal if you managed to do it. But there is one thing you need to be careful about as the full game gets out there:

[:-] You should not have someone with the demo playing against someone with the full game. The results are unpredictable, and the player with the demo game would always get slaughtered in the best case scenario because the demo will not promote units beyond the veteran level. But most of the time, I think the demo player would just crash because he would not have the map tile sets needed for the maps. It's possible he might take out the other players as well.

Ah well, the law of unintended consequences strikes again. If this becomes a problem, I'll add something to the full game that will indicate what version players are using.

I haven't tried it with Gamespy Arcade. I installed
a older game I played on Gamespy Arcade. I scanned for new
games and the IOE game is seen in my Games area. I figure
Gamespy Arcade as some support for it. Maybe someone will
test it out.
