Well with all of this talk about BB's going around I thought I would finally start working on one from an old Anime show. In this pic she is about 80% meshed in, all that is missing is the little critical things like hangers, turrets, support struts, thruster clusters and that ever important Command Tower. She is currently sitting at about 1800 polys which will jump up to 3200 once the thrusters, hangers and turrets are put in place.

Anyways, should be posting another up-date soon between modeling, work and being sick again. Btw she is from a show call robotech.

Hmmm, I don't remember this ship one little bit. Which show is it from, Macross, Southern Cross, or Invid Invasion? If it is from the first or last I can find the episode.

very last ep in the Invid Invasion, it was also called the SDF-4 (I think) do to its large size.
But for the most part you only see it for a few seconds..and it gets destoryed in a grand way.

Well there is she is all Meshed out, with two working hanger bays I might add and sitting at 4300 polys. (with turrets in place) althought it shold have some serious defensive fire power as well.

Thanks guys ... I am hoping to texture her out and get her Def'd in close to the end of next week..if things tend to remain quite around here. I will keep you posted..

Welcome back AncientAngel! Have you got any word from other old time modders, like Dragon Lady, seawolf and ... who ever was working with Black Genesis?

Well this is already slightly an old texture picture. Spent a little time after up-loading this pic doing some much needed detail work. Anyways ..I am going to crash for a bit and get some more of this done this weekend.

Well here it is with 95% of its texture mapping in place. I just need to finish the bridge tower and the internal hanger bay and the mapping should be done. Then it is time to run it back thru a paint program.

part of the problem is its a big ship and a huge chunk of the detail you will not see unless I zoom the view point in close. Granted..the texturing process isn't even close to being 50% done at this stage but once its all uvmapped, further texturing will be a little easier.

Okay guys getting really close to getting this ship done .. still have to do more detail work etc.. I ended up adding in more to this mesh. It seems I forgot 4 reaction control thrusters which are need on both arm pylons. I was also missing a few missile launchers and fins. The internal Bridge got a few more polys in the front of the landing bay to keep more along the lines of the closed hangers. Textured in 28 hull hatches for point defense guns. Yeah thats right 28 of those bad boys Anti-fighter/Missile. I only ended up adding in just 4 missile launchers out of the 18 possible from some sources. There is just no way to put them in and at this point any new weapon system to this ship is just over kill.

Poly wise, she is sitting at around 7600 Polys and that is counting all visible weapon one the model. That is not counting the point defense guns, even if each gun was 28 polys that would push the ship right up to 7000 polys. In either case the ship is under the 8K rage which is good for a ship of her size.
