This is easy to do. Select your cockpit polys in Magic. Set the polygon property to Translucent and Transparent. Now, to look like glass, you have to work with the pcx image. True black (0,0,0) will be completely transparent and look like there's nothing there. I usually start at around a (50,50,50) gray. That gives a subtle tinting effect and makes it easier to tell something is there. Obviously, you can play with colored tinting if you want by adjusting the RGB values. Just remember that the higher the value (up to 255 in most cases), the less transparency you will have.

I played with 64,64,64 for the first texture and 128,128,128 for the second. I also only applied the second specular, transparency, translucency. I'll have to check your way and compare.
