Virtual Cockpit Display

Salutations,

I'm current on placing a cockpit view using the F2 chase view. [:'(]

Eventually, I will desire to add Virtual Cockpit capability to my fighter and attack craft.

How does one build or .def fo a Virtual Cockpit ? Shift F1. [:D]

Please be detailed.... I'm pretty dense. [:'(]

Actually it is very easy. Just center the cockpit so that your pilots head would be at 0,0,0. In your ship def file add the lines---cockpit_model and cockpit_scale.

It actually wasn't that difficult after being given the accurate data.

I finally concluded not to use it in my fighters and attack craft. It doesn't provide the use of a joysticks view capabilities. One is limited to looking around using the mouse. That can be problematic in the heat of a dogfight. [:D]

Using the F2 chase view in the cockpit is more pleasing to use. [:'(] It looks pretty neat. I installed it in my new Ranger and Gillbos' Pacifier attack craft. They will be included in my next Cartel.dat update.

I may implement it in my capital ships when and if I get around to putting cockpits into them.
