Mr. praetorblue:

Campaign

Does this game have a campaign mode (do what you want when you want) or are there connecting scenarios, all connected, thereby calling it a campaign.

Please explain, thanks.

Hello Jonny_B,

Supremacy was designed to be open-ended. You make it what you want it to be. Like small quick ground battles? Play that type of game. Like long drawn-out epic space battles? Play on one of the larger space maps (despite what people say about the physical size of the space maps, a map with 10 planets is an exceptionally long game that may take days to complete).

There are also many other gametypes, including things like death counts, rescue the diplomat, etc. (not exact names, I don't have the list here in front of me).

So Supremacy does not have automated scripted events like "Now villain X has captured planet Y, stop him!", it's an open-ended strategy game with lots of different play options.

Hope that helps answer your question, let me know if you have any more,
Vance

Ok, I'm still not seeing 45 units in the game. :-) Are there hidden things to unlock or find?

Serian, have you unlocked all the motherships and the battle cruiser? Also, have you found out how to acquire zombies yet? :)

Well, I was already counting the motherships and battle cruisers. [;)] I still come up with only 33 units with those. I just took a direct count from the Supremacy home page. I guess I am up to 34 units now, with zombies, whatever they are. So that leaves 11 more units to find...?

Serian, there are some units you can't build too. Like towers, each type of planet, space stations. Whoever came up with the "45" must've included those. Hope you enjoy the diversity of units nonetheless, we tried to give you lots of options.

Hi Vance,

Don't worry, I'm sure I will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. There is already a good amount of variety in the game and everything seems really well done. Now all I have to do is get used to playing it. [:)]

well. . . . . .

after a long silence away from this forum I have decided to buy your game

but I'm on a 56k
but thats ok, I can wait for it to download, I use getright

anyways, all this means is there will be a ton of suggestions coming within about two days from now (from me)

hehehe, you knew I would return.

I download over night mostly

but heres a question to go with the thread. . .

could there be a way to make a group of units that you can select and move to a spot on the map with a single click, and the units could remember where you clicked if they could not make it there in a single turn?

mabe moving tons of units with individual move orders isn't that bad in this game, I'll have to try it.

another thing that occurd to me is . . . .well. . .. . . . . .. this game feels to my like the unreal tournement eqivelent of wargaming, hows that for a weird statment, anyway I'm UT nut, its a form of some kind of zen for me. . . hehehe, I hope I get that kind of thing from your game, now thats weirder than the first thing I said, but I could go on. . .. hmmmmm

another question

its been mentioned by me and a couple others but mabe I'll say a little differently

it would be very helpfull for the online players among us if there could be some kind of rating system

this would not be an automatch system in lots of rtss today

just a rating that would make selecting opponenets easyer

- the rating could be made from ai games, or you could turn on an option to have a game rated agienst an ai

- the rating could be self created, the player could choose his/her own skill level from good, crap, average etc (or there could be different rooms in the lobby for different skill levels)

- this rating could be online only from playing people

though I havent got the game yet so mabe the mp is already set up in a similar way?

I don't think "squad" movement would work too well on a grid map. Also ship movement costs resources. I haven't tried the biggest maps yet but up to 8 planets I haven't found moving ships to be tedious.

and another

will there be a pdf manuel in the download (or txt, doc etc)

perhaps leting people check out the manual before they have bought the game will be the next best thing to a demo, perhaps there are legal probs with this though?

thanks zero, I forgot many were saying theres a big strat in dealing with fuel supply of some kind, guess that kills the movment idea, and yes I don't quite know how the units would get to a point on the grid together? thinking .. . .

RE: Questions

ok now heres a good one

is there atmospheric soundscapes to the ground battles, each different to different planet types, cause I love feeling like I'm on another world and I can hear the birds and the bees, wildlife etc, that would bring me into the game much more

but

perhaps that was not your design goal, but perhaps this could be moded. . .hmmmm

wich brings me to another question

it was mentioned that music changes to suit the battle condidtions

is the music different for different race leaders? does the music change when you go to a ground battle, does it chang for different planet types?

AND

whats the music like? I think this question is directed at the people that are now playing the game, not black hammer guys.[:'(]

pdf manual-yes

music- I tend to mostly not notice music in games unless it's bad or absent. For the most part I haven't noticed the music in Supremacy, but there was a moment the other night when I did listen to it and I really liked it. I was on the space map at the time.

Q - when the map editor comes out, how big could a user make a map, and how many planets max could we make, would bigger maps get sluggish while playing?

I am of course thinking of making some truly epic maps like the ones in another strat game called Stars, wich is a very good game by the way.

Q - could a user create pre deployed maps, or atleast maps where each player already owns a ton of planets each, so players can get on with the carnage, awwwwww I'm just draeming of it now hahahahahaha (insert evil laugh here)

sorry

I just want somthing to make up for the crappy starwars sequels/prequels[:D]

I think this was already mentioned but. . .

can a user with the editor change movement ranges, unit stats and tech to that kind of unit?

because I would probibly make some kind of insta gib match with larger movement radiuses and huge damage hehehe[:D]
