Self Destruct

Enjoying the simplicity of this game... not to say that it is checkers by any means, but it is the perfect game to play on the notebook computer. [:)]

Anyhow, I have noticed upon a self destruct of a ship, the game indicates splash damage in a radius, yet the other ships never seem to take any damage. I was trying to kamikaze <sp?> 3 wounded enemy ships only to kill myself, and have the enemy laugh at my folly.

Anyone else take note of this?

The self destruct seems useless to do any damage on enemy ships after
many test, so I will fire the last shot to enemy rather than SD.

Self-destruct should damage directly adjacent vessels. Please check the exact hp of directly adjacent enemy vessels on the stats display before and after a self-destruct (self-destructing decoys does not count), and let me know if it is definitely not doing any damage.

Ok, you are correct.

When I self destructed on the Tiny mission, next to the first fighter I could get next to, it reduced the HP from 100 to 90. Perhaps not enough to move the HP bar, and that is what I was looking at.

Oh, also, it shows a range at times of greater than just adjacent. I am assuming it is the range shown by the color tiles? [&:] Not just the ones next to you?
