'breeding' grounds. As such, they are usually among the first types of worlds targeted by other species –
certainly not because of their beauty, but due to their riches…and also as a means of killing off Groth.

'Last Stand of the 354th Heavy Infantry Regiment' – Kylio Vetral

The Fvost 354th Heavy Infantry Regiment, over 400 strong, served as a rearguard for the Fvost Area Army 8 occupying the Cha'Ar world of Graft. Facing nearly 10,000 angry Cha'Ar warriors, the 354th stood their ground in the Hammer's Cradle, a high, wide ridge between two of Graft's largest volcanoes. With no support or reinforcements, the 354th held until Area Army 8 could be evacuated – about 4,000 veteran warriors. In the above painting, artist Kylio Vetral depicts the final moments of the regiment as its 881st Security Platoon rallies to the 354th's headquarters structure (center) as the main force of the Cha'Ar XXI 'Sun Raiders' Army presses home the final attack. None of the 354th survived the battle, but post-battle recon showed the Cha'Ar suffered over 2,000 casualties taking the Hammer's Cradle.
