Runtime Error

Post by rta »

Am I doing something wrong? Downloaded and extracted game, inserted serial number etc. Watched the opening sequence and then received a "Runtime Error" from C++.

Anyone else had this problem, is there a way to work around it?

Hi rta,

You could try moving all movies from your media folder into some other location (temporarily) -- running again, and seeing if this solves the issue. There should be an MPG and a few AVIs in there I believe. With these movies removed, you should see a black screen for a while when you start the game, and then it should load to the main menu. Please report back and let me know if this helps (if it doesn't, go ahead and put those movies back).

THanks,
Vance

I just installed the game, and found that I get the same runtime error if I choose an AA option higher than "2X". I am running a Radeon X800 SE w/driver version 6.14.10.6444 and XP SP2. If I choose any AA option below "2X" the game launches just fine.

Thanks for the suggestion but did not work, as you can imagine very frustrating.

Any other suggestions?

Hi rta,

1. Please make sure you have DirectX 9 installed.

2. Please update your video drivers (if you haven't already).

3. Please be sure you are running the game on a supported operating system (not Win95/98/ME).

If it still crashes, get back to me.

Thanks,
Vance

Yeah have done all of that.

Would my video card be supported? Its only an Intel 845GE.

Perhaps I don't meet the specs?

If your using WinXP make sure you have all the available updates installed.

I believe it has something to do with the program from Indigorose that Matrix uses as their installer, Autoplay.

Are you using WinXP professional SP2 or Home Edition?
