Anyone else think building vehicles is a waste of time/money?

I use the little spirit tanks as back up; and they're great for scouting. So no, not so far...

The early ones are a waste but the latest model you'll find very handy.

they are very handy for scouting and quite often i send out a 2 or 4 man team with 1 or 2 tanks just to have some fun.

if u use them right they are a great.------See Desert Rats in the Action Repots section. Yws in that one i lost a few people but i've many successes with them aswell.

no argument that a full comlement of warriors is better than having a tank and less people, but for just plane having some fun and testing your skills the tanks can be quite fun.----I love the Hover tanks---they sit down in the terrain very nicely [ send em out 30 or so movement points and then pull them back behind a hiill or some trees} which makes it hard for the aliens to spot them and opens up the terrain for yopur warriors to move into and spot the aliens first. This is especillay great when u start running into the Inquisitors----mean sons of B##### those guys.

The Desert Spirit can be useful, because you don't need to manufacture it. You can buy one for $40,000 which is very reasonable. This can be used throughout the game as a scout/cannon fodder. It gets off the transport first, so it will absorb a couple of hits for you. When its hit points drop to below 50%, park it. If it gets fried, buy a new one. I use these primarily when I don't have 12 fit troops to go on a mission. You can take 8 troops and one of these on a Sky Diver.

I don't bother with the other thanks, except for the Earth missions which basically force you to take 2 tanks with you (the best one is the Hammer). Tanks are usually a waste of time because they take up too much space and don't level up...

One or two tanks is good to have for base defence but I like the extra eyes that comes with the additional men for missions...since I tend to fan out my troops from corner to corner and clear all the  open terrain before entering any space craft, those extra men are needed....

yeah know what u mean.I found that upgrading tech is the best thing.U might have to pick and choose your missions and just wait until u can equip your people with the best. Then go out and take back what the aliens have taken.
