Hi Guys

All I can say is the game is supposed to be released on April 16.  Until we hear otherwise we will go with that.

Hi David

I know it is not normal, but if you can, can we know about it, when it is ready ?, I and I bet more then a few others have it on pre-order, and I would rather pick it up from you then from them

has anyone tried the open source X-Com clone UFO:Alien Invasion? It is listed at sourceforge and has been recently updated.
I've downloaded it yesterday and it looks great, I intend to give it a try over the weekend

btw I plan to get this one too, I suppose the activation of the matrix downloadable version works as always by serial number?

I actually just downloaded the newest UFO 2000 Beta last night and messed around with it. Graphics for the actual game aren't great, but it's fun, so who cares? Oh, and the weaponsets...all kinds of fun, new toys to play with. Sniper rifles, frag mines, plasma swords, chainsaws, shotguns, napalm grenades, disc launchers, flamethrowers...

I just took a quick glance at the official forums and I read a post by Moriarty that claimed that there isn't going to be a demo. Moriarty is a moderator at the board, but he also said that he wasn't sure.

So, you'll have to wait for official confirmation, I'm afraid.

They have in the past stated the demo was 97% done on the develoepers forums then they release a video of the demo, and now won't release the demo? Something doesn't smell good [:(]

Like I said, I have no official statement from the developpers, pad152, so I might be very wrong about it. I hope that I am wrong, to be honest. :)

How would a demo go though?

A month of gametime...a week?

It couldn't be like a regular demo where you just give people a small chunk of gameplay, and you would have to do it in a way so that it wouldn't ruin anything for you once you got the game.I'd hate to play a demo..then get the real game and sit through a part going yawn"Been there..done that".

One of the main reasons I like a demo is to make sure the game will run well on my computer. The "required" specs for this game are about what is in my machine so I'm skeptical. I like to have at least the recommended specs. Sorry but there's no way I'll buy this game without a demo. In the meantime, thanks to kafka for pointing out UFO:AI. Downloaded it and found it to be very good even if it isn't quite finished. The price is right too.

I just recently found UFO:AI, myself, a few weeks ago. Let me know what you think! Seems very well put together, so far. Oh, and if you can get a buddy or two together, the multiplayer is a blast.
