doesnt detect CD in drive

I'm trying to get this game to work on my computer, but the disk isn't even recognized as being in the drive when I put it in. I've tried hitting run and it still detects no disk in the drive. HEre are my system specs: HP Compaq dc7100 with windows XP (2002 version). IT has Pentium 4 (3.2Ghz) and 1 GB of Ram, with a 256 MB NVidia GeForce 7600 GT graphics card. The "DVD/CD-ROM" drive is a LITE-ON LTR-48327S. Any help with figuring out how to get this game running would be much appreciated. I bought the retail version so it is a DVD version which apparently, is different from the non-retail version (from what i've been told).

As I've noted, we don't support the Retail DVD version.

My only suggestion would be to give it time as another poster mentioned it taking 30 minutes to start up on his. Also, give it a try on a friend's system to see if it does the same there.

If it's a defective copy, return it to the store and exchange it for a different one.
