If you have problems post a question. I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of the different files associated with campaigns, but I know there are some folks around that know them pretty well.

Can you be more specific on what you're trying to do?

I think I would first start by editing the scenarios, then go in and edit the campaign. But to do the editing, you should load the scenario into the scenario editor, change the name at top, AND save with a diffrent file name. THis should give you a new scenario, same as original. (it won't be in campaign yet).

Then load your new scenario into the editor, and add your n=units (make them core units). and save again with your new name.

Then load Campaign into campaign editor, eidt the Campaign name to a new name, and save it using a new filename. This should give you a new campaign, same as original.

Then load your new campaign into campaign editor, delete the first scenario. Add in its place your customized scenario.

Now your units should show up in first battle of campaign. If they do, you need to go through and repeaat the above for ALL the battles in the campaign.

I'm doing this off top of my head, so I might have missed some steps. But thats the general approach I'd use.

The thing to note is that scenarios and Campaigns have ID's that may not be the same as their file names you need to change them both to your new names and the editors are probably easiest place to do that.

Hope that helps.

keep us posted and if I've glossed over some things, ask.

Thanks!

Save the original scenario xml somewhere safe.
Open scenario editor. Load the scenario that you want to mod. Pick the unit, click the P on left, click the map where you want to put the unit. Save at the bottom.

Post back when you need the file that you didn't save.

ok, all went well, not sure why.. but just missed something, BUT the save did not like me adding Tigers in summer of 42, no idea why as they where released in early 42, at least to field trials.. so I adjusted the date...
thanks again...

Not 'they', 'it'.
First test model April '42.
8 more produced in Aug '42, 4 of those were the first to see action Sep. 16, 1942 near Leningrad.
3 more produced in all of Sep. 1942.

Maybe for PCIII!

Once you get confortable adding a few things, you should try your hand at creating a new scenario.

Thanks

The first Tiger to see action was against the Red Army on August 29 1942, southeast of Leningrad with 1st company of sPzAbt 502. Four Tigers were deployed in a single file on marshy ground, a terrain completely unsuitable for a tank their weight. Three of the Tigers broke down due to mechanical failures and all four of them had to be recovered and repaired.

They were committed to battle again on September 22 1942 around the same marshy area. This time, either all four Tigers were knocked out by Russian antitank guns or got stuck in the mud. Three were later recovered and the forth was destroyed by its own crew to prevent it from being captured.

Good Hunting.
