Map & Scenario Editor - Backwards Compatibility

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Map & Scenario Editor - Backwards Compatibility

Post by kilowatts »

I recently bought CotA and IMHO the map & scenario editors are the great 'undiscovered' features of the game package. I played around a little and created a mini-scenario, from scratch map and all, in a little under an hour. I'm very excited about BftB because, although it's not exactly new material, the inclusion of the 1944 US and German estabs will open up 12 months of western front operations involving 5 million (ish) men to scenario builders. Including many operations that have never been done officially at this level before.

I have a little pet project I'd like to work on. Will the maps and scenarios I create using the editors in CotA be transferrable to BftB? I appreciate that there may be two answers to that question.

Kilowatts - Good to hear you are planning ahead [;)]

You should be safe with developing Maps for BFTB with the COTA editor. At least I hope so - because that's what we (west front DDT) are using....

Scenarios will need the new BFTB estabs of course.

That's good to know. I'll assume that you have access to some Estabs that I don't. [;)]
