Well, I got the new patch...

Post by JudgeDredd »

...thank you very much.

But I've just went to create an NA scenario using my Banghazi map, and I'm only offered the CreteEstab...I thought the game was going to include new estabs?

Or are they under the CreteEstabs?

If they ARE under the CreteEstabs, how the hell am I supposed to view them? Because the descriptions used don't actually tell me what was Afrika Korps and what is not. I mean, my scenario is hyp[othetical anyway, but I still wanted to "roughly" use what forces would've been on the NA front...as it is, I can't tell which would have been and which are not.

I'd appreciate any help...as it is, I'm not sure how to progress an NA scenario

Thx

JD, everything you need is in the CreteEstabs file.

The Sidi Rezegh scenario has most of the DAK and British forces ready made fo you. The Bir el Gubi has some Italian forces, mainly Ariete.

Just open one of those scenarios and export the forces as xml files and import them into your scenario.

Another method is to open one of the NA scenarios and exchange the map with the map you created and "save as".

Where is this Sidi Rezegh you speak of? I can find Bir el Gubi, but not Sidi Rezegh

The LOS on that map is terrible even if the terrain is all flat.

Is it to simulate the undulations of the desert?

I could never find the cause for the undulation effect but I have a theory.

The topographical coverage shows this area covered with scrub, and the beta version of the map had a scrub terrain with LOS hinderence. It was a bit too much so I got rid of it and recompiled the map. somehow I think some residual hinderence remained in the data. Just a theory.

I kind of liked it so I never mentioned it to anyone. To me it does represent undulating terrain, as you say.
