Unzip problem

Post by alaric99x »

I've been waiting for the patch to get finished before purchasing CotA.

I just downloaded CotA and now it won't extract. I had this problem previously with TOAW III and I was advised to download PowerZip. That worked, but now the trial period for PowerZip has expired and it won't work for me anymore. Out of frustration, I tried to purchase PowerZip and wasn't able to do that either. It seems that PowerZip has somehow disabled my normal Windows extractor because it no longer extracts anything.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the false alarm.

I futzed around with it a little more and managed to solve my own problem.  I see this is not one of those games that you just open and start playing, guess I'll have to actually read the manual for this one, and then work on the tutorial.

But thanks for the fast answer Dave.

Check out the 5 Minute Guide that Eddy produced for just how easy it is to get started. Then dive into the Intro tutorial. Leave the Reference Manual till later and use it as a reference not as a guide to how to play. After teh Intro tutorial, play some of the smaller scenarios then do the Advanced Tutorial.

It's actually very easy to get going but it does time to master. Don't be afraid of making mistakes - thankfully they're only virtual men you're putting at risk. Trial and error is a great teacher. Enjoy. [:)]

You're right, Dave, the system is remarkably easy and intuitive.  On the other hand the game has great depth.  So far, I can see that it models reality with remarkable accuracy.  I'll be spending a lot of time with this because I can't resist micro-managing my forces, once I learn how to do that effectively.  Congratulations to you and your team!
