Operation Battleaxe

Post by Prince of Eckmühl »

In a development that may well redefine the term anti-climactic, I'm announcing the emergence of additional scenarios for Panther's CotA game. The last of these, Operation Battleaxe, is in its final gestational phase. It depicts the fighting between the Rommel's Afrika Korps and Wavell's Western Desert Force in June of 1941. Barring unforeseen developments, and assuming that I can find a host for the maps and scenario files, I'll unleash the following on CotA players in coming weeks:

Black Rats at Gabr Saleh
Operation Brevity 2-Day
Operation Brevity 3-Day
Operation Battleaxe

The initial deployments in Battleaxe:

Hi,

Anti-climactic or not your effort is much appreciated. This looks really good and will probably help tide the rest of us addicts over until BFTB releases........
Thanks!

So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)
Hmmmm... big place ain't it??

PoE,

Send me your files and I'll see if we can host them on the official COTA site at Matrix Games. Just zip the files before sending.

Thanks, and I'll be in touch when Battleaxe is completed.

This has been quite a journey.

I originally intended to do something small and simple, just to demo the editors.

As I proceeded, I accumulated more and more OOB and event data and didn't want to waste it.

That's not necessarily a problem, except I kept getting distracted by new "finds," so much so that I was constantly opening one scenario when I should have been finishing up another.

The lot is about done, now, though, so it's all good. [8D]

Thanks again,

How is it progressing?

This looks like it is an ideally sized battle for CotA-I'm looking forward to it.

BTW; if you need a play tester I have time right now.
