Damaged Ship Groups

Post by jomni »

Another damaged ship question.
This time when you have a group of DD's or MCS with damage...
Is the damage for the whole group? Or is it for just one ship.
I suspect that it's just for one ship.
How do you split the group so that you leave the damaged one in port?

The damage is for just one ship. To repair the damaged ship and continue to employ the others, disband the group to port then use the pool functions to transfer the other undamaged ships to other groups. For MCS that is easy enough; for DDs it depends - you need another group of the same type of DD that can accept the additional DDs. I think the max you can add to a destroyer group is 4.

That's what I was thinking too.
The problem is where to put the destroyers moved to the pool if there are no similar destroyer groups available in the area.

Sometimes, you have to simply bite the bullet and scuttle a ship, so the remainder of the group is useable.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Jomni -

You can also set the cursor on the group at sea and use CREATE TF function to take the damaged ships out of the current TF so they won't slow it down. In fact, I just had this happen automatically.
