Pacific War Update Version 3.2.16 Available for Download

Post by Rich Dionne »

The latest version 3.2.16 of Pacific War is available for download over on the Pacific War Update forum (see link below).

Unfortunately, I've only had time to update the scenario file OBC41 to be compatible with this latest version. The other scenario / campaign files are not included in this version. I will update the other scenario / campaign files to be compatible with this latest version as soon as I have time. There are quite a few changes to the EXE, and I wanted to get this out to you now and not take another couple of months on the scenario files. The directory also contains the latest list of ongoing fixes / modifications (in the "Documentation" folder). The latest scenario / save file excel editor and extension editor are also located in the main directory.

Something I noticed only opening an Allied 1941 game with non-historical start: odd ship starting ports. British fleet that used to start in Singapore (Force Z) appears in Colombo from the start. The same happens with the Dutch fleet, and the USN Asian Fleet has been mostly moved to Oahu (as have some AUS/NZ ships?).

Is this working as intended?

Denniss, Unfortunately, I don't know any other way for me to upload a 5 MB file for download that doesn't require some kind of sign-in. Sorry, this must be a recent change at Tapatalk.

JapLance, Thanks for finding this. I don't know why this is happening, but it doesn't seem to happen in the original Matrix version, so it seems to be something I have done. I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

OK, I figured it out. What you're seeing JapLance is only supposed to happen for computer controlled ships, in this case drawing a ship to its HQ location. This is not supposed to happen to a human player. It's a simple fix, but I'll need to correct this right away.

I just uploaded a fix to version 3.2.16 that needed to be done, so you'll need to download the zip file and re-install it. I made a few new changes:

174) Corrected TO&E of Australian brigade units, which had artillery (24) and AFVs (9) reversed. Adjusted the arrival date of the Australian 30th Bde to 4 Jan 42. Added code to change the HQ of Australian 23rd Bde from CMF to SW Pacific in April 1944. Changed the HQs of Gull and Sparrow Forces to ABDA, and changed the HQ of Lark Force to SW Pacific.

175) Changed the US 27th, 40th, and 41st Infantry Divisions to HQ 4th Army (West Coast) at the start of the war. 4th Army is a restricted HQ, so these units cannot be moved from the West Coast until their HQ is changed. Added code to change the 27th Division to Central Pacific HQ in March 1942, the 40th Division to Central Pacific HQ in August 1942, and the 41st Division to SW Pacific HQ in March 1942.

176) Fixed a bug that moved player controlled ships as if they were computer controlled.

177) Fixed errors in the time on patrol and attack settings of 3 Japanese submarines near Midway Island.

I just uploaded another patch to version 3.2.16. so you'll need to download the zip file and re-install it. I made a couple more changes:

178) Fixed old bug that set all HQs to computer control in a human player game that started with a historical start.

179) Turned the improved Allied routine convoy routines back on.
