Running PacWar on a Macbook using Boxer

Post by BagHorn »

Hey, have any of you guys ever tried to run Pacwar on a Macbook using a Dos emulation app like Dosbox or Boxer? I've got it running successfully but seem to be having difficulty with some of the keyboard commands working properly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

OK, I got both Pacwar and WitP running under Windows XP SP2 on my Macbook Pro running Lion using VirtualBox VM. The key was installing SP2...it didn't like SP3 for some reason.

I will try tonight. I have a white macbook (2008) that I put a windows XP partition now at sp3. Only issue i have is cant look at CV airgroup details due to out of memory but that is a general issue. I also have dosbox on the mac side. will try that tonight. I know that you get to right click by having two fingers one the mouse pad when clicking. Which keyboard commands are you having problems with?

Hey Bill, it looks like both the SSI and Matrix versions of Pacwar are both fine on Boxer. I think the primary problem was me getting myself refamiliar with the games after last playing them in the mid-1990's. At this point, I am running 1.22 SSI Pacwar fine (Boxer & VirtualBox Windows XP SP2), 3.2 Matrix Pacwar fine (Boxer & VirtualBox Windows XP SP2), and the last version of WiTP fine (VirtualBox Windows XP SP2).
