Battle Reports
The first battle report on the new forum.
PrinceCorrin and I dueled with recons (because I didn't have much time) in the classic terrain. Coincidentally, we both got the same titan--his Timothy, which seems to be an upgraded Pest. We took a few potshots at one another from the cover of forests, then started dancing. I got lucky when he dodged into my hex, giving me the chance to punch, kick and shoot him before he could react, then he DFA'd me and we both fell. Somehow, I got up first, letting me do more damage to him. He started backing off, so I just kept punching and shooting as fast as I could, figuring I'd worry about heat later. Finally, a punch and then a laser blast took out his CT. Thanks for the quick and satisfying game, PC.

You dastard!! I was unendingly unfortunate in that battle
But at least my Timothy did well. Heat was very nicely dissipated, and reload was quick. I am happy

My second battle with PrinceCorrin went as well as the first one. We dueled with mediums in the classic map. I got a Cataphract, he got a Medusa. I saw him early on, and used my range advantage. By the time he got close enough to use his weapons, he was painted several pretty colors. He finally conceded after his AC12 was destroyed and all other weapons damaged. Sorry about the bad luck, but thanks for the win.

Cool Assault battle
I played a battle w/ tarendelcmir in mediums. Although my Stonewall was outclassed by the Tribesman, I was able to remain standing after my leg got blown off & take out his arm! I lost, but it was unbelievable, successfully standing on one leg to get in a bit more damage before blowing myself up.

I couldn't believe it when he didn't fall over. He got 1/2! And then, standing on one leg, he shot my in the RA and caused a 22 point ammo explosion that took off my arm. I thought I was going to somehow lose yet again. Finally, his ammo exploded due to heat, and I won. Damn good luck, Card.

PC and I went again Michael and Michael.
PC had a Blizzard (his homemade, twin CLGs) while I was on a Meatgrinder (my homemade, 2 LRM6s, 4 SRM8s). Michael drew an AC7 Tester (homemade, PC's I think, 4AC7s, 3MLs) and a Hipshot. After a crashed game at second 127 or so, we restarted from an autosave. First PC and I saw the AC7 Tester. I was out of LoS from it but PC started taking some sniping by Michael. We were determined to take him down so we started heading up his way. I jumped up to get a shot at him, and what did I see? Michael's Hipshot was coming at us from the side on a flanking maneuver!!! To be flanked is bad enough, but to be flanked by something with 2 AC20s is even worse. We quickly switched our attentions to the Hipshot which allowed us to stay out of LoS from the AC7 Tester. A few moments later, freezing lights, the thunderous roar of cannons and the screeching of missiles were heard. When the eerie silence came afterwards in the winter wonderland, the Hipshot was minus a RL, RA, RT, CT and CBT while PC had taken a good 3 AC20s. We went to find the AC Tester again, which I soon did as I began hopping over the hill. I took a veritable barrage of AC7 shots, my thick skin soon reduced to some paper plating. I ran like mad, tossing a few LRMs here and there, demolishing Michael's woods before breaking LoS. PC decided to go on a flanking maneuver of his own while I climbed up a lightly wooded hill and spotted Michael in another set of trees. While I kept him occupied with my missiles, PC went around a mountain to surprise Michael. By the time PC saw Michael again, Michael had the faint tinges of yellow tattoos while I was starting to bleed in several places with Michael warming me up in a nice fire. A couple seconds after PC began to open fire, Michael pounded yet another AC7 into my poor arm, causing the missiles contained within to explode. Needless to say, I was minus an appendage after that. My missiles had taken their toll on Michael though and soon after, some fine shooting from PC removed Michael's LL, LoT and CT.

I took on Michael two more times this evening. First one was on Heavies in Iceland. He got a Flail while I was on a Loki. Luckily for me, we spotted each other a great distance off. Unfortunately for me, he was out of my LoS for most of the time. However, with a decent indirect fire skill, I was able to pick away at him while he ran through the trees. It didn't seem that I was doing much against his near 60 armor as a reduced woods left and right, sometimes hitting him. However, as soon as he came out into the open, I started sandblasting him. He banged a couple PGs into me, turning both my legs yellow after one hit each. As he closed in on my minimal missile range, I finally started spraying new colors on him. He dodged like mad but could not avoid my constant rain of missiles. Soon enough, just as he was about to leave my minimal range, he tripped and fell, knocking out his own CT and engine.
In the second we went on Assaults in classic. We both got customs, him a Deep Fryer (TB, BRG, LL, HMG, 3LMGs and in need of an overhaul) and me a Magic (twin PGs, GC, AC4, HMG). I hopped up to a hill and spotted him, but wasn't able to get any hits off. I ran down and headed for a lake. I had just gotten comfy inside the lake when he reappeared just outside of TB range. We started banging away at each other. Mostly this game was won by luck. I passed multiple move checks caused by his BRG, and only fell over whenever his TB hit me. Finally, he closed to one hex and squatted down. I then jumped out of my pool and DfAed him, falling down in the process yet unable to take him down. He quickly started pounding me like there was no tomorrow. After he knocked me back down I stood up, punched him a couple times, only to fall back down on a missed kick. He continued beating me, until I stood up and finally kicked his RL off. However, the game wasn't over yet. His TB and BRG were still alive and well and he was able to bang several more shots of each into me, leaving me on toothpicks for legs, a crushed stomach, a damaged engine and a damaged heat reg. Finally after gonging his head twice with punches, he decided that a last alpha strike was in order, in the hopes of taking me down. His TB and BRG hit again, thankfully not taking any parts completely off me, and then he shut down. I pummeled him into submission from there on.

There seems to be some heavenly (Hell-ly?) decree that no matter how the odds are in my favor, I will always lose to Lyhrrus, over and over. It's getting to be a comedy.

Yeah, and I beat you again when testing my Annoyance, but it appears as though I'm fated to always lose to you when it's a real match.

Well, Michael and I went at it again, Assaults in classic mode. He got a War god (some remake, twin PGs, twin AC4s, and a ML) while I had my homemade Shotgun (AC 20, 2 SRM8s, 3 AC7s, 2 AC4s). He was able to jump and snipe at me for a bit with his PGs, and able to get back down before I could do anything. I headed for a pool of water and found him hiding in some trees. Blew out the trees, then blew out his head (mostly with a lucky AC20 shot). Total Shotgun style.

In the second round of the Lyhrrus-Mike battles, I, coincidentally drew the Shotgun he'd blasted my head off with, while he got the Underwhelming Ancient Mariner. Since I had Shield 3 and DCS 3, I wasn't terribly worried. Things started off great and stayed that way, except for a few knocks like knee and hip crits that made me fall three or four times. I had him red everywhere but his arms while I was still green, and a final AC20 shot tore a hole the size of a truck in his CT. True Shotgun style.

Dueled PC last night. My Gutter vs his Cold Stepper. Was another triumph of luck over skill.
Fortunately was my luck over his skill
Gutter has major heat problems but the Cold Stepper just doesn't have a good weapons mix for duels. PC conceded game with no RT and head,CT,RA and RL yellow while I was still green.

Three battles today. Two with Hetz. One team game, me and Michael versus Old Man and God.
Battle 1: Hetzer drew a Fortress, I drew a Grim Reaper (otherwise known as Grim Crudder). We got within 5 hexes before we saw each other. Unfortunately for me, the GR was no match for the Fortress's TB and thick armor. After falling multiple times and eating too many TBs, I lost enough parts that it was over for me.
Battle 2: Hetzer got a Banshee while I drew a Ravager. Unfortunately for him, we saw each other right away and I hailed upon him endlessly. I have to give him credit for being so tenacious and actually getting oe CLG shot into me past my shield before I blew his LL off and went to strart the third battle.
Battle 3: Michael and I teamed up for some revenge on the Old Man and God. I drew an Atlas while Michael had a pitifully underarmored Gunstorm. Hetzer drew a Prometheus while poor Larkin got a Grim ReaperB, basically the same Grim Crudder with a few minor modifications by Hetzer in between games. I jumped up onto a nice hill and saw both of them. Since Larkin was closer, had thinner armor and no flares, I started blasting him left and right with GMs. Hetzer viciously countered with his twin PGs, which amazingly bypassed my shield most of the time. Hetzer eventually dove into some woods while Larkin ran for cover behind some mountains, but not before Michael joined in. Larkin took a severe pounding that had turned his head, RT, LT all red. He fell down and was able to crawl into a crevice allowing him valuable time to repair damaged systems. Hezter got many more PG shots off at me during that time and damaged my DCS and a GC. With him flaring and in woods, I figured I would need to get closer to bang him up. Michael had lost track of Larkin and went searching for him, unfortunately falling several times allowing Larkin to pump him full of missiles. After moving some, I was able to bang a bunch of shots into Hetzer, which didn't really seem to affect him. Hetzer finally crawled out of his woodland abode and tagged me with even more PG shots. Thankfully they were all evenly placed so that I never once showed a tattoo. Larkin surfaced in some woods by a river Michael had fallen into and started pounding Michael some more. By then his LL and RL were red as well. An AC20 later blew off Larkin's LL leaving him down, but not out. He continually blasted Michael with his missiles and NB even after I set his forest aflame. Then Hetzer took Michaels LoT out with a TB and started to zap me again, until Michael threw a couple more AC20s into Larkin, causing Hetzer to return his attention to Michael. Larkin's titan finally gave out when it overheated, but not before drugging Michael up quite a bit. Hetzer ran into a field of my GCs and MLs before a lucky shot finally took his LoT out. A couple AC20s and a few more GCs later, his LA popped off giving Michael and I the victory.

Hi Guys!
Naragon here (mucked up my registration, so I'm Bardinae until somebody at matrix changes two letters in my profile's e-mail address & sends me a password.) Thanks for the posts! I'm still getting used to the messages here, since they scroll waaaaaay over on my browser (like word wrap at the 200th character or something
So until I sort this out, could you add a quick "2 wins, 1 loss vs. opponent" summary in the titles? I planned on having the next Ranking on Monday, but sorting this stuff out is slowing things down.
Thanks,
Naragon\Bardinae (are there multiple personalities here, or is it just me?

I wwas frankly amazed that we pulled that win off. The turning point came when Larkin's titan mysteriously died. Even though I was on my back, Hetzer was in my arc of fire, and two AC20s, even on a downed titan, is a significant source of damage. Even so, I was amazed. It was a hell of a game, and a bit of revenge for the last time we played the two of them.
