I did it, I did it! Mwa-hahahahaha!
I was just a bebopin' along when I saw PC playing in the sandbox, so I decided to go and kick his sandcastle over >:-D.
He hopped in his Gutter (twin AC7s and AC12s) while I strapped into my Musketeer (same as above). We chased each other 'round the playground a while, til I found a nice tree up on a medium hill and hid. He then had to run across the playground and through some trees with me sniping at him. Pretty soon his RL was red.
He did return fire and knock me over a couple time with his ACs, but except for my RL, which was yellow, I was green the whole game.
I managed to peg his head and blow out his RT before he ran around a small group of hills and dissapeared, and when he reapeared, I dinged his CT and low Torso turning them red. After that he ejected and gave me the game.
Thanks PC, hope we can do it again!

See the happy moron,
He doesn't give a damn,
I wish I were a moron,
My god! Perhaps I am!

A decisive win over Hetzer tonight!
Setting was polar, medium size map, assaults with elite pilots. I drew a Bully (homemade, lovely twin NB's plus 4xSRM8, 2xSRM4 and an extra medium laser for laughs) and he got a Vertigo (2GM3, 2AC7, 2BRG and 2MG).
He spotted me at around 15 hexes, sitting on a nice hilltop, having nothing but wide open plains between us with nary a few forests. So I decided to bite the bullet and rush on. Surprisingly, Hetz's die-rolling arm must have been a bit rusty, as only a bit over half of his shots hit me. Bully's armor was holding nicely.
Finally I closed in the range, and my first NB shot rendered him unconscious right off the bat. He got back up a while later, but I was running constantly closer. After some exchanged fire I managed to hit him with my NB's, rendering him unconscious again. Then was my turn to fumble - I missed two consecutive jump attempts (70%) to climb on a medium hill from thick forest hex I had stayed in. I also missed a stand check at 100/98 in between. Hetz didn't do much better, missing ALL his weapons trying to alphastrike me. After a quick reload, his BRG wiped me off my feet, making me redo the stand routine.
Hetz realized I was getting too close, so he jumped to safety. It didn't help him long, as I finally managed to jump up, and closed in the last three hexes ASAP. My alphastrike at his already well-tattooed titan was rudely interrupted when my first NB shot killed off his jock.
Thanks, Hetz! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one on this planet plagued by bad luck. Now all I need to have is a brutal slaughter over Tarendelcymir to soothe my wounds at his GM titan beating my CC Medusa the other night.

Had a long fight, and I mean a long fight with Naragon today. Partially it was due to me hitting "z" instead of "x" which caused us to wait 1k seconds. (We finished at about 2250 seconds). A lot of the game was me skulking around, hiding and sniping at Naragon with my Soothsayer against his refit Pillager. We must have done more damage to the ecosystem than we did to each other as you could literraly smell the dripping plasma from the burnt trees. Naragon had me trapped inside a burning woods where he could see me, but I couldn't see him, in which he must've knocked me down 3 times, and I failed to jump out 2 times. Finally I made it out, backed into some water, and sat there while he shot at me from a hilltop with burnt out trees. I swear there shouldn't have been any more trees there after the fight as they were covered in plasma from misses and bounces off his shield. Finally I got lucky and blew out his LoT followed by his RT and engine.
Won a game vs. Hetzer later that evening.
We played random and pulled up the classic map. Me in a Ravager vs. Hetzer in a Vicious Byte. I started heading toward a large mountain range in the center of the board. As I crested a medium hill, we saw each other at about 6 hexes distance. After exchanging volleys, I decided to turn around (i.e. flee) and use the mountain cover to gain some distance. My 4 AC4's and AC7's could hit him just fine at medium range; the question was, could I get out of the range of his AC20? I heard lots of jumping as I covered some distance, and Hetz came into view and locked onto me as I tried to enter some woods. A painful volley and an AC20 hit to my LT told me I didn't make it far enough, so I jumped into the trees and just made my piloting check, reaching cover before Hetzer could fire another round of Mesons & Cannons.
The tables turned as I started pelting him while he ran for cover, and soon I had his leg & head yellow. He made tree cover, but a green scan and some lucky shots made him charge me. He managed to stop in woods just before my hex, so I charged him as he fired machine guns and turned my LT red. Inside his hex, I stopped my charge and fired everything instead, blowing his leg off. Not too soon after that, his head came off as well.

I ask myself why you didn't break the wait. It should be possible either with F3 or by pressing the corresponding button when in passive mode. If it wasn't possible it should be a bug.Originally posted by Lyhrrus:

A pair of wins against Jukka. Both in hell, both on mediums.
First match was my Gambler against his Illuminator (refit). I was pretty worried, even though I managed to damage his scanner, jump jets, and shield in the first three volleys. He kept tagging my in the head with missiles and a LL, which didn't feel too good. Finally, as we closed, I got in some engine damage, which helped immensely, as his heat reg. 4 couldn't cope with the added heat too well. I closed to point-blank and we commenced slugging. He got in some good hits, but I did more damage to systems, and his head kept him from striking too often. A couple of ammo explosions later, I shot his head off.
Second fight was my Scorpion vs. his Lehr Magnus. I got a perfect hilltop position early on and really rained lasers and missiles on him as he tried to close with me. By the time he got into NB range, he was red and yellow in half a dozen places. After one good NB hit, dizzying me, I shot his leg off, then blew out his CT.
Thanks for the fights, Jukka.

We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

Played tiny teams against Hetzer. Our tonnage was exactly the same, but I had some luck with the combination of titans: Eagle (recon) and Firestorm (heavy) for me, whereas Hetzer had a Stingray, Fire Beetle (both recons) and a Scorpion (medium, improved version). I used my recon only for distraction, and managed to climb into a perfect position with the Firestorm. Taking advantage of the terrain elevation I parked 15m below the top of a big hill, still able to see all other titans, but out of sight for most of them. I had a free selection of targets, all of them inside the range of my main weapons. And the time I needed to jump up and fire the weapons wasn't even long enough for getting locked on by anyone.
By the time his Fire Beetle had taken some heavy damage, and I turned my attention on the next enemy, Hetzer told me about his view of the situation and that he wouldn't dare to come closer. It was a foretold conclusion and he gave me the game.
Thanks, Hetzer, I'm sure you'll soon get compensation.

It took long, it was pain, it taxed me a lot of time.. But I DID finally win Tarendelcymir tonight. His luck over me has thus been proven coincidence. Still, at 1 win after 4 (or 5?) losses, you might think he's a better player.. But we'll have to see out first.
It was a third on our series of fights. All were set to hell, mediums, veteran pilots. Taren described the first two, this was the third. He drew a Bastard (very descriptive name, quad flamers, NB plus axe and chainsaw) while I got a Gabriel (six Small lasers plus a NB).
We saw from quite afar, but neither of us having any long range armament, I charged through a lava river. This was certainly a bad move, as my scan later revealed that I would have been better off just staying on the other side. He ripped into me like, well, a bastard with his flamers, but I managed to avoid most of his PX and CS strikes as I ran like hell away from him. I couldn't return much fire as his flamers meant critical heat levels for me.
After a while his heat got so high that his Flamer ammo exploded, ridding me of some of the most imminent threat. I managed to cool off enough to bite him with my NB. After some traded NB shots, and the realization that my Livotto doesn't do Jack Schitt against neutron damage, he fell unconscious, and for some strange reason, I couldn't see him lying on a low hill, walking two hexes away. I managed to cool down to zero while he got his consciousness back and started chasing me. His jock had been hurt pretty badly, so all he ever managed to slap my face with after this point was a couple of NB shots. (Naturally, they all either dizzyed or stunned me.)
Then another NB shot made him fall unconscious again, and I got some free shots at him, one especially noteworthy being a SL hit that exploded his LA flamer ammo. I kept on moving away, as I knew he'd use those deadly flamers on my already well-tattooed titan as soon as he'd wake up. We commenced another wild goose chase up the mountains, but it all ended when I scored another three NB shots at him, leaving him with only 5 hp's and doing some nasty effect. He then gave up and conceded.

Alexi beat me a while ago, and I haven't seen her since. Hmmmm. Maybe she is avoiding my vengeance. YOU CANNOT HIDE FOREVER GIRLIE!!!!! I WILL FIND YOU, AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE PAIN I HAVE SUFFERED BY YOUR HAND!!!!
Heheh, see ya soon Alexi darlin.
Heheh, see ya soon Alexi darlin.
I see your lips moving, but all I hear is: Blah Blah Blah, I'm a friggin moron.
I think she's avoiding your wit PC. Anyway, dueled Michael twice today, first time I've done so in about a week I think. Unfortunately for him, his luck (bad) continued.
First round at his place sent us to hell. He was on an ArkAngel (pitiful armor, LRM12s, NM14s, and a ML I think). He had hilltop advantage and was able to indirect me while I couldn't see him. I maneuvered my way through gravestones, finally forcing him to move. Some AC20s, PGs, a few falls and a DfA later, his ammunition started popping, and that was the end of that.
Second round at my place we went in classic. I drew my custom Apocalypse while he got a refit Pillager (twin GCs, twin LLs and a PG). He drew hilltop advantage while I waited in some water and set everything on fire. However, I fell victim to my own ploy as he jumped up and down, tagging my side torsos back and forth. I ran out, quickly dried off and went for a new place to hide, trading missiles with his GCs and LLs. After having one torso red and the other close to red, I started closing on him, figuring I had to get in close to render his GCs and PG ineffective. It was rather disheartening as I only had a yellow scan on him and he looked just fine. Finally I caught up to him as he was running off a hill, back towards the pool of water that I was in. I was able to fight my way into his hex where it became a true test of wills. He was dodging so I missed my kick on him, fell and got pummeled. I got off, knocked off his LA and LT, and then promptly had my RT taken out, followed by my heat reg with a boot to my LoT. Fortunately for me, Michael had heavy system damage and his entire body, with the exception of his LoT and CBT was finally now red, and I had knocked him down again. On the flip side, I was in red heat, and had plenty of leftover missiles waiting to pop. Finally a lucky punch to his RT took out his engine and life support, destroying man and machine, with about 3-5 seconds before I would have blown.

*crosses self* I swear my computer is going to explode soon.
Dueled Larkin at my place. By all rights it should have been his game. We went on heavies in classic terrain. He got my Hawkeye (PG, TB, 2 LRM6s, SRM8, SRM4) which outclassed my Goliath (2 GM3s, 2 AC12s). He spotted me before I could attain a good position to shoot my GMs. We traded some shots while I jumped around and ducked behind some hills to get away. Unfortunately, LARKIN was my opponent, and predicted exactly where I was going, and set my future forests on fire while knocking me a bit with some nice indirect shots. Eventually he closed without me ever being able to directly see him, and when all the fires burned out we were 2 hexes away. He failed some kind of check, and I was able to pound 2 AC12s into his one Achilles heel, his CBT. He crouched and immediately pounded all his missiles and a TB into me while draining my shield with his PG. I ran into the burned woods, got another AC12 into him and started running into his hex. In the mean time, I ate another TB and some more missiles. I charged into his hex, and we both fell. I got up first, but not before he put my right shoulder out of action with another TB (note: I still had my RT, but not for long). I got one punch in, then he stood up and pounded me with more missiles and another few TBs. Soon my RT was missing, while my LT and LA were red. The turning point came when I was able to kick Larkin down, and he did a face plant, allowing me a nice called shot into his CBT, taking it out. He soon ejected after blowing out my shield again with his TB.

Okay, I swear I'm going to find a fish head in my bed after I come home next time.
I also have to say that this game was mostly won by Bernd. The only thing I really did for it was to write this report.
Bernd, Larkin and Michael were all on so we decided to have a 4-way pow-wow at my place. I let Michael and Larkin be on one team so they could pound on me and get revenge. We went on Heavies in classic mode. I got a Predator, while Bernd got my Gremlin (twin LRM6s, twin TBs). Michael drew my Voodoo Doll (2 SRM8s, 4 HMGs, LL) while Larkin got a refit Fog Giant. Things started looking a bit bleak for Bernd and myself as Michael ripped into Bernd's electronics and Larkin popped a few AC12s into him. Berned finally broke their line of sight while I jumped up and down, missing half my GC shots, but causing Larkin to fall twice. (Sadly, Larkin finds this tactic of mine abusive, and it will not be half as effective in WS ) Larkin tossed a bunch of smoke screens to cover their movement, which worked relatively well. They crossed back behind a mountain while Bernd and I waited in some light woods. A short while later the real firefight began. Bernd took a pounding from the two of them while I continued to jump up and down. The tide only turned when Bernd first depleted Larkin's shield with a TB hit, then blew up Larkin's LT with another TB which caused an ammo explosion. Surprisingly, Larkin only had a few more minor ammo explosions after that and came back to life to haunt me later on. In the mean time, we switched our focus onto Michael who was running on the outside range of Bernd's TB. I had moved into Bernd's hex and started poking at Michael as well. Earlier, a lucky TB hit had damage Michael's heat reg, so he wasn't working at full efficiency. Michael made a quick J-turn and started heading for our position. He failed a dodge, but I was unable to call his leg off. After he got up, I noticed that Larkin had come back to life and was heading for Bernd and myself again. I went out to meet Larkin in a mosh pit while Michael made his way into Bernd's hex. It was nearly a quadruple suicide. Michael eventually punched out Bernd's CT while I knocked off Larkin's RA and LoT. Bernd then set fire to his hex with Michael in it with a missed TB shot. Michael ran down into the mosh pit to join me and Larkin and I DfAed him, unfortunately not causing either of us to fall. After hitting all his undamaged body parts, I eventually punched out his LT. However, it only ended when he stood up again and kicked his own RL off.
