in a sequel, or a perhaps an expansion? (I know, I am jumping the gun. but hey, a game as cool as this deserves a long running series, eh?)

My list:
quad Titans

vehicles (rolling, tracked, and aircraft, both fixed wing and VTOL)

defensive structures (you know, turrets?)

alternative ammo load outs for certain weapons (ie for AC shells, both the HEAT (High Explosive Anti Titan ;) ) we have now, as well as Armor Piercing and Anti Titan Shotgun)

hrm, and I'll have to think of more later, as well as see what I can ste ... ahem, borrow from both Battletech and Cyberstorm.

Some other ideas...

* Branching campaign: Be able to specify (during design) what file will be the next to play depending on whether the player wins or loses. This should allow merging branches as well (different win/loss routes to the same node).

* Have the number of enemies in fights against the AI (non-campaign/mission games) default to the number of titans in the player's team. For convenience.

* Save the various battle display settings so they are the same next time you play a battle. This would be things like perspective, display of hex lines, etc.

The ability to test a design out on the battlefield...by specifically taking it out onto the battlefield.

More in depth campaign game, using a dynamic mission generator. Once these missions have been completed, then this will severely limit the replayability.

That one's easy already. Just make a special squad consisting of one jock, and have he/she buy the titan you want to test. I do it with every titan I build.
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

It will be in in the patch. You can pick titans for teams/duels in hotseat modus but NOT if you want to play your solitary game with your squad.

1) abilty to add repair buildings to random maps

2) ability to have 6 teams in random maps (add teams E and F that maybe start at the top and bottom-- each team starts in a hex direction).

As more of my friends get into TOS, the second request is becoming more and more of an issue. We live 1000s of miles apart, so just sharing mechs on a team does not really work...

Sorry, more than 4 teams won't happen as it would trigger severe changes in code and interface.

will, i did specify sequel OR expansion.

And I would hope sincerely that a sequel would have significant changes to the code and/or interace, ya know?

not specifically, no. actually the game is great, as is.

and from an expansion pack, no, i wouldn't expect much changes.

but a sequel, yeah, I expect some changes. after all, how much code work was involved in turning TOS 1.4 into Warring Suns?

that is what I'm talking about from a sequel, something that expands (moderately or greatly) on the original.

I'd like to see 2 UI additions:

1) Would like to be able to use the 'x' hotkey shortcut while the weapon screen is open and when all weapons have NOT been fired... sometimes I just like to cycle through MG's and CC weapons without firing the Plasma cannon at 08% :)

2) A hotkey shortcut for 'recycle all weapons' (or did I miss this one?)

What you think Larkin? To hard to code for the return or could this be doable?

Well, I've asked for 1) like forever, but never got it. Somehow I believe it'll be now :D

Tell me what you want EXACTLY and I will do. Iceman + BBlue is enough to make me follow.

Just what Bblue said, 'x' working while the attack window is open. Not a mandatory feature, but confortable.

BTW, welcome back Bblue! You were missed.
I hope Glim makes it back too. Good days, those when you guys were around.

Thanks Iceman, good to be back!

as for the 'x' hotkey thing....EXACTLY... :)

open the attack screen. You have ... say... 4 weapons recycled and ready to fire. You fire 3.. and in your current combat situtation it's not prudent to fire the fourth (too much heat generation, ineffective range, saving ammo, etc, etc, it don't matter)

currently you have to CLOSE THE ATTACK WINDOW then hit 'x' to recycle to next weapon.

What I'd like to be able to do is: with the attack screen open and a weapon left unfired, be able to hit 'x'; which would CLOSE THE ATTACK SCREEN for me and wait on recycle next weapon.

It don't sound like much, but I find myself wanting this very often, especially with quick recyclying weapons like CC, MG, and SLs.

This would also be nice to be able to do with a recycle ALL weapons hotkey :P

Like I said, If its doable without alot of hairpulling and hard to track down bits of code, cool, it would be appreciated. If not, no sweat what-so-ever

Sweet!

You've gotta love Developers who actually listen and implement what the unwashed masses want.

Here and Battlefront.com are the only two I know of that are really great about it.

Cool

My 'left-click finger' thanks you.

Where else can you show up out of the Bblue and get reasonable suggestions considered and implemented. This is the VB spirit that makes this game great.

Some more suggestions, possibly easy ones to implement.

It would be really nice if you could toggle the time display between showing seconds (as currently) and Minutes:seconds. Sounds minor, but I've been writing up my battles for another message board, and it's a pain to have to convert the times over. Plus, I find it slightly more natural to think in minutes:seconds and in hundreds of seconds.

It's possible that you can already do this and I've just missed it, but obviously you can create a map where certain things happen when you hit certain hexes. It would be pretty neat if you could also trigger certain things happening at certain times, so that you could actually create time limits, moving lava, things like that.

How about as minor a UI (game-wise) suggestion as they get. In the Headquarters screen, where you choose whick squad you want to bring up (1st screen after entering HQ) when you choose a squad you have to click where in states "SQUAD X", how about letting us choose the squad by clicking on thier unit name (ie. Viscious Witches). This is soooo minor, but everytime I go to HQ I try to click on the name.... then click on the name agian, thinking I missed it... 3rd time I click on the name I FINALLY remember you can't do that.

Can ya cater to a idiot who can't remember which button to push?
