New releases?

Welcome to the new war raging across hundreds of light years at once, with mechanized Titans as the main fighting force.

New releases?

Post by Reliable Royce »

Someone may have already asked, but...

Are there any planned future releases of TOS?

I'd like to see some more:
1) terrain - well at least more nurbs or other items in the maps
2) to be able to add more building types (maybe buildings that span two+ hexes)
3) Larger teams - I'd like to bring in 16 titans and control / manage them all
4) support vechiles maybe? tanks? ammo trucks?

Sorry, no more TOS. VB has splitt up. In my coding spare time I'm currently engaged in the Dawn of War AI mod project.

That's too bad. Is there a tool to edit the fvars.dat file? (This is the one that holds all the weapon specifications right?) I'd like to modify the Flamers so that they don't have ammo...

Try googling up a hex editor.
I think this would cause compatibility problems in multiplayer though.

Yea, I figure I would try that as a last resort.

I could also use a batch file to switch the file if I ever decide to play online.

Flamers without ammo?! Ugh! Ammo keeps them balanced.

I wouldn't call it a "project". I just want to see if I could add a new weapon like a flamer that doesn't rely on ammo.

I find that all of the systems and weapons are balanced very well, so its not like I'm trying to improve the game. I was just curious.

I was asking/replying to Larkin, about the Dawn of War project he mentioned. Should have quoted, but the message title says (in reply to LarkinVB), and I used a seperate post. Sorry about the cofusion.

We have a dev forum here

.. but I left the team due to different oppinions on objectives to achieve. If you are a coder and like DoW join their project though. Its fun improving the AI.

Too bad. Not easy not being the one in charge, eh? [;)]
Maybe v1.3 can be a reality, now that you're on a coding roll? [:D]

Have you thought about making a WH40K version of the ToS engine? In the style of Chaos Gate - I miss that game.
