That was light titans in classic. My Firefiend (2 n.m.7, 2 flamers) defeated his.. I don't remember the name.. (2 Gauss rifles , 4 mg's).. It looked really bad for me at first until I remembered that his heat dissipation was only 1.8º/sec, just enough to stay stable while firing and not moving. I may have to redesign that.

Dueled Coyote twice on mediums. We each won one. Both times, he got GM titans, but the first time I was able to get close enough that my BRG-and-CLG-wielding titan was able to get some hits in, and when he DfA'd me, I stayed up. His LS was damaged, and a punch to the head killed the jock with shock.
The second game was all his. He found a good spot to perch and started raining death on me before I could even see him. When I finally saw him, I was too far away to fire. He pummeled the snot out of me before I could anywhere near him. I did actually manage to get off a few shots (My titan this time had a BRG and a PL), and took out his shield, but he retaliated by blowing my leg off. A moment later, he took out my RT and won.
Nice couple of games.

Finished up a game Firestorm and I started a few days ago. I lost. It was pretty much a forgone conclusion from the start, since we were in Recons and his LMGs had done medium damage to my main gun early on. I did manage to get some good hits in, but he took me down.

Got some revenge on Firestorm in Assaults. I got a Lich, he got an Ares. I played hide-and-seek with him for a while, since he had the close range advantage, then got caught flying over water and took an unscheduled dip. When I arose, dripping and mad, however, I wiped the grin off his face with a quarter of called shots to the CT, turning it quite red. Followed it up with a rush and punch, then an SRM hit took out his CT and dropped him. His engine wasn't there, though, it was in the CBT, so I had to keep drilling.
Finally, I struck oil-engine oil-and finished up by coring a nice hole right through the middle of him.

I'm glad to see the amount of online battling seeming to increase again. Welcome back to the battles, Larkin. Now all we need is Rosary, Iceman and Marga to come duel. (Hope you all take that as a hint. Heh heh.)
I'll play online after WS is out. I'm not really enthused at playing v1.4. I'm spoiled with TOSWS.

31st July. Prince Corrin and I fought with Tiny random veteran teams over a standard arena: lots of hills and valleys, patches of plain, but little undergrowth: my light Slugger (2x Autocannon 4, 3x Autocannon 7) and recon Punch (Autocannon 4, 2x SRM4) against his light Mirage (3x GM3, LRM 9) and recon Unicorn (Gauss Cannon, Machine Gun). After wandering vainly around for a while, my Punch jumped up to climb a plateau and started catching GMs from his distant Mirage; however, as soon as it landed, it moved out of the Mirage’s sight, and started exchanging shots and missiles with his Unicorn which was also on the plateau. When my slow Slugger climbed into view, the Unicorn backed away down a steep slope and tripped ... the damage from the fall probably more telling than that from my weapons. My recon came down onto the plain to creep round the hills, which Prince Corrin was ready for, but I popped up too close to where his Unicorn crouched among trees .. another unlucky skill roll for him and the Unicorn fell again. Meanwhile my Slugger came off the hills to try to join in, but started to receive GMs from the Mirage on a hill a perfect five hexes away. At about this time, his Unicorn lost a leg and my two started to run towards the Mirage, which had also started running ... away. Prince C conceded.
I was lucky to have all those cannons and to get so close to his team so quickly, while too much of his firepower was dependent on his team attacking me from a distance. I must admit to grinning. I’m sure revenge is on its way. Thanks for a good game, Prince Corrin.

Just had a rather sad victory over Taren. It took probably around 250 game seconds. I just started shelling his Gladiator early on, then found a nice pearch and continued the shelling. He got a few hits in with his PG, but he had multiple red bodyparts very quickly. He never even got close to me before he lost a leg and a side torso, and that was the end.

Played two games against Hetzer. Won the first, lost the second.
The first was in Iceland.
I was on a Thug, he on a mindflayer. I put my shield up, and that solved all the energy issues. He only hurt me twice with his NBs, and rarely hit me at all. All my parts was still green when I finally ripped his head off with repeated lucky hits from my triple AC12's. I didn't bother with the Lasers much.
The next battle seemed opposite. I got much the same titan, only with an AC20 instead of a third AC12. We were in Hell, and hetz was riding an adjucator, which, instead of dissolving the jock, was build to dissolve a titan. And this it did quite effectively. I only got his CBT to go yellow after I DFA'd him, but then he killed my jock. I fell on my head after he kncoked me down with a well placed SRM salvo. I found it amusing that he killed my jock with his SRMs, but barely scratched me with his NBs in the previous battle.
All in all a good day. Hopefully my luck will return for the next battle. Hetzer's days of terror continue, but I am not as bad a player as I used to be. I do learn, tho slowly.

Took Lobsteve on a one-way trip to Hell. It was a mismatch from the very beginning - My Ares (2 AC20, 2 GC, 1 AC7, 1 ML, 2 SL) vs. his Vertigo (3 GM3, 2 BRG, 2 HMG, 2 SRM4). I had the clear advantage in firepower, and was able to get close enough to negate his GMs effectiveness pretty quickly. Despite several personal meetings with the ground, courtesy of his BRGs, I took out his LT early on and took away half his firepower. From there, it was fisticuffs all around, but I won by destroying his heat reg, at which point he conceded. (It was hell, after all.)

Got my butt kicked in assaults by Ducados. I got a Gunslinger, he got a Behemoth. Pretty comparable firepower, but he had the definite armor advantage, and it told. I was red in three places before a lucky AC20 shot hit him in the head and prolonged my life a bit further.
A did manage another AC7 to his head, but it wasn't enough to save me. When he destroyed my RT, which contained my Battle comp, I conceded.

Just had a very nice team battle. Peztor and I vs. Firestorm and Ducados. I got a Crusader (2 LRM12, 4 SRM4, 1 ML), Peztor had a Daemon Lord (Blech, but it worked well in this one...1 NRM14, 2 TB, 1 AC12). Firestorm got a Gunslinger (See above post
) and Ducados had a Grim Reaper, a titan I do not like at all (2 HMG, 1 BRG, 1 NB, 2 chainsaw.) CC weapons on an assault are a waste of space and weight, in my somewhat humble opinion.
My LRMs made a big difference early on, as I was able to get a good perch and rain death from on high. More so, because both the Gunslinger and Reaper are rather underarmored for assaults, my missile hits built up fast. Peztor swung around to close with the two, and I kept working them over. We took off Ducados' leg, and switched to Firestorm, even though Ducados kept firing, damaged my knee and my gyro with his HMGs. Luckily, I had a DCS 6 and repair fast. The gang-up on Firestorm cut him down pretty fast, but he took a lot before he died when my missile decapitated him (Coincidentally, as Firestorm pointed out, at second 666...). We turned our attention to Ducados and pounded his prone form until it shut down.

I didn´t like it either, but now I hate. No chance for me to even move. As I said to Firestorm we were on another match. Our luck was so bad that we even failed a dodging chech each of us in the same hex with 3 secs of diference.

Won one and lost one against Hetz. The first match, my CraterMaker (3 LRM9, 2 LRM6, 2 SRM8) lived up to it's name and made his Mjolnir rather well ventilated. It was just good luck getting a spot early on.
Second match, his Crumbler (Buncha LMGs and HMGs...) had my Auto Da Fe for lunch. By the time I got close enough to use my flamers, there wasn't a single part of me with internal structure of over 20, some much less. I did manage to do some nice damage when I finally arrived, though, started with a DfA that did 18 to his head and following up with a rapid series of flamer and PL shots. I got his head, LoT and LT red before he punched a hole in my severely weakened chest.

2 matches vs. Ducados
The golden Duc and I played two games this morning. The results follow (quite obviously):
Game 1
We wound up in the ice lands, and though I've already forgotten the titan names, it was clear that his 3 GCs were going to make mincemeat of my single PG. We also both had a NB each. He got the first jock-melting shots in and I was dizzy and bleeding for quite some time while he melted my armour away, never mind that I was caught out in the open while he had the advantage of cover.
I worked my way into some trees (painfully slow on the ice) and crouched down. This was at 300 seconds and already a single shot to my CT would end the game as I had but 2 points of armour left. But the cover and crouch method negated his opportunity for called shots. Then it was my turn for Neutron Blaster luck as I think I knocked him out. But not long enough for that single PG to do any real good. Luck really wasn't on Ducs side as it took him another 300 seconds to hit my CT again. Game Over.
Game 2
Charitably Duc offered me a chance for revenge. Being generally ticked off at my luck of late and angry at the world in general (I think my skin is turning green) I accepted.
I had the early advantage of long range fire with a pair of AC7 and I wasted quite a few rounds from mid air once Duc had run out of LoS.
Then there was a very long pause as Duc ran around the mountains to get in closer range. I suppose I could have used up all my ammo firing from mid-air, but I had gotten lucky getting airborne throughthe treetops in the first place and didn't want to spend alot of time falling down.
I tossed my shield up once he appeared (and hit me with a CLG or two) and he wasted no time in setting my woods on fire. So I had the double advantage of being crouched and being in burning woods with a good shield. My combination of AC7s and an AC20 were doing fine from our current range, so I stayed put. Duc had no choice but to keep on coming since his main weapon was a Tesla. After tumbling out of sight after a dodge there was another pause.
It could have been alot closer, but once he was in view again I knocked out his left torso, which disabled his Teslas, which left him with a CLG at 20% to kill me with. Sorry, no dice. He did come on gamely, trying to get into CC range with his remaining fist. It didn't quite work out as he jumped up to my position, I ran underneath and turned to blow off his leg. He passed his skill check (1/2 doesn't happen so often I tell you what), but with one leg it's always over quickly. And it was.
Lobsteve.
