Clearing Queued Missions bugs?

Post by merlak »

Version 1.2.9.8

Clicking "Stop and Clear Queued Missions" for a player-controlled ship before an engine is built changes the ship status from "Under Construction" to "Disabled," and after a few seconds the ship automatically returns to "Under Construction." This appears to be working as intended.

Clicking "Stop and Clear any queued missions" on a player-controlled ship after the hull and at least one engine is built clears the "Under construction" status or mission. If the ship is automated, then it will return to construction status on its own. If the ship is manually-controlled, then it does not return to construction status unless it is changed to fully automated. However, if one uses this method to stop the construction of any player-controlled ship after at least the hull and one engine is built, then that ship will accept orders even though it has unbuilt components. If the hyperdrive and reactor are built, the ship will jump even without a built crew system or command center.

These actions can be recreated in any saved game.

Do you have a save game you can share with us with steps to reproduce showing this?

I apologize for the untimely reply. I had to travel for a few weeks. Attached is a saved file. I started a new game just to recreate the events (and to keep the size of the saved game file small).

1. The spaceport at Ncllun3 has the escort "Fearless Guardian" under construction. Select this ship from the build queue. The ship currently has 25 percent of the hull constructed and is set for manual control.

2. Click "stop and clear any queued missions." The ship status changes from "under construction" to "disabled," and then back to "under construction."

3. Place the cursor over the hexagon that shows the hull status. A box appears with the status of all components. Wait until the hull is 100 percent built and one engine reaches "normal" status.

4. With at least one engine in normal status, click "stop and clear any queued missions." The "under construction" status of the ship is removed. If the ship status changes to "disabled" and then to "under construction," wait a second or two for the data to update and then clear the queued missions again.

5. Give the ship a move order to a nearby location. The ship leaves the spaceport and moves with components that are not yet built.

6. Run the game until the "Early Warp Field Experiments" technology is researched.

7. Order the ship to retrofit to the latest design with the Skip Drive.

8. With the escort selected, place the cursor over the hexagon that shows the hull status. Monitor the status of the General components. Once at least the reactor and new skip drive are built (the previously-built engine remains in "normal" status), clear the queued missions and order the ship to move to Ncllun 1. The ship will hyperjump with unbuilt components.

Thanks, that's quite the corner case that you caught! We'll investigate.
