Possible Support Bug

Post by AbeMuc »

I dicoverd a possible bug with the support system. Maybe someone else had a similar experience:

It now happened two time in the first scenario. From one turn to another 6.AOK dind`t receive supply (well in range of a supply source) and thus the whole front (all units) wasn´t getting supply anymore. My frist guess was there eventually must be some kind of enemy unit disrupting the LOC to 6.AOK. But testing showed. No one there.
So I reloaded my savegame for the planning phases again and resubmitted the turn again. Same effect of beeing out of supply. Next reload I moved 6.AOK one Hex away fomr the current location. Supply was completly normal after the replay phase.
So I suspect the could be a possible bug. Of course this could have otrher reasons, as I strill "struggle" a bit with LOC. I tried to create some bigger pockets but somehow the enemy find a way through my lines. Difficult to achive. I just say this as to admit that of course it could be there is no bug just a guy sitting in front of the monitor not excatly knwoing what he is doing.
If I can help I would send you the according safe game to get a look at it

some quick ideas to check whats going on

- what was your interdiction level? You can check if interdiction lowered your supply if you click the info panel top left. sometimes you get none even as the german if you did not put enough air on air superiority.
- use "R" to check the LOC radius of your HQs
- was the 6AOK HQ in a good hex (like not swamp?) check the terrain type in the terrain info panel (just in case there is a discrepancy between the graphic map and the "real" map underneath.

Yes, as governato says, mgiht be interdiction.

In the AAR, I posted about how to see interdiction results:

I had it happen, too. I'm rather convinced it's a bug.

It happened when there was no enemy unit even close anywhere between the HQ and the units. And it was certainly not due to interdicition: The enemy had but one unchallenged interdiction point, which resulted in -5% HQ range that turn. This left even the high range HQs (which lose more MP from a single missing % point) well within range.

I re-resolved the turn (using an autosave) and everything was fine...

Oh, you mean the HQ was isolated? I read that and I thought you meant that you couldn't set Combat+ or Move+ supply.
Please send the save file to saint_ruth1691@yahoo.ie

I checked all you mentioned above. Nothing relates. I just can`t find another solution as this has to be a bug. But of course I could miss something.

I just sent you 3 files. Two are after the replay phase with the possible bug. Nearly the whole front is out of supply. And I sent another one where everything is correct.

To help you track the bug: I did some testing and every time I don`t watch the replay and quit it right after the creation of the film, everything is fine. Something after finishing the replay causes this behaviour.

Hope you find the problem. Maybe I for now have to stop the Lets Play, as I can`t get my units in supply on turn 11.

Cheers and keep up the good work. I really love the game...
