It's always good to see modders at work. New creations provide more connections for players to game play.

I'm new to installing mods, but if it's PzK Mods or WDS Mods, which would you recommend?
I guess I have to make a decision based on my gut feeling based on the pictures.

You have the choice. You see in this topics the WDS mods and also in another Topics on this forum, the PzK mods. The two are not running together but if you install this with JSGME it's very easy to change between this two options. If you need PzK mods in last version, send me a private message and i give you a Link to download. To use JSGME, you have just to :

1. Download JSGME. You find it here:
jsgme_2.6.0.zip
(1.21 MiB) Downloaded 59 times
- Unzip and install it on your desktop

2. Copy/Paste the JSGME.exe file on your Stalingrad Folder (Normaly, your Stalingrad folder installation place must be C:program(X86)/Matrix Games/Stalingrad)

3. Run this JSGME.exe files from this place

4. Say yes when the program say you that he will to create a folder MODS in this place

5. Next when you have the program running on your screen, you must see in the middle of the panel an option named TASK

6. Click on TASK and choose "GENERATE SNAPSHOT OF FILES GAME"...the program do that (1 or 2 min). You have to do this one time for all (punts 1-6) not every time you will to play with the mods.

7. Dowload my mods folders from my links (all is in only one folder for each mods named PzK Mods or WDS Mods Stalingrad). UNZIP the two and put them (copy/paste) in the MODS folder which is created by JSGME in your game location (find in the same place where you put JSGME.exe before).

8. Run JSGME from the same place (or use the shortcut wich is normally installed by JSGME on your desktop) and select one of the mods you need to use in the left column. Click on the arrow to the right and the program put the mods to the right part of the screen (if the program seem to be blocked and say "the program don't answer", there is no problem, let him work). Depend of you config but it will take 1 or 2 min max.

9. Use the same process with the "battlesound" Mods dowloadable with the other link in this two topics (PzK and WDS) if you need to use this one and say yes when JSGME ask you to replace some files with this one.

10. Close JSGME (or not) and run Stalingrad...

11. To change between the two mods, select the mods installed by JSGME in the right column and click on the Left arrow to uninstall him. Next select the other mods and do the same like at Pt 8. (if used, uninstall the battle sounds mods too and re-install after the mods new mods you choose).

I test my mods with my Bitdefender official version and no virus are finding...

Say me if running wel...if not, you can also copy/paste all the folders of my mods on the right places in your game folder but it's not very fun and there is no back-return to the original version without entire re-installation of the game if you have a problem.

I prefer the WDS mods because I'm a fan of this games series but it's only a personal choice.

Sincerely,

Hellway

Another "Flak green" color for German army counters. Install this one with JSGME AFTER the WDS Mods (currently with +1 photo of a Roumanian Cdt in the last original WDS Mods version - no V. number change).

See First Post - Pt 4.

I just bought Stalingrad and am impressed with your graphics mod. However I just read your 11 step procedure for installing the mod and a little hesitant to try it as it seems complicated. Is there a simpler method for a computer neophyte? Thanks.

With JSGME, it's really the easiest and best way to change or remove the Mods if you need to. It's really not very complicated. You can always copy/paste my mods folders into your game folder but if you make a mistake, there's no going back and a complete reinstallation will be necessary...

1. Download JSGME - Unzip it and install it in your game folder (Normaly, your Stalingrad folder installation place must be C:program(X86)/Matrix Games/Stalingrad)

3. Run this JSGME.exe files from this place

7. Dowload my mods folders from my links . UNZIP the mods you prefer or the two and put them (copy/paste) in the MODS folder which is created by JSGME in your game location (find in the same place where you put JSGME.exe before).

9. Use the same process with the "battlesound" Mods you need dowloadable with the other link in this two topics (PzK and WDS) if you need to use this one and say yes when JSGME ask you to replace some files with this one.

It would be nice if the engine supported MODS the way TOAW and Flashpoint Campaigns do.

.which is super simple (at least conceptually)

1) have a 'custom graphics' folder in the main game folder where
2) users can place mods. The mods 'd have to follow the same folder tree structure as the main game (as when using JSGME)
3) The engine then checks the 'custom graphics' folder first and uses the files found there (if any) instead of the default ones,

This 'd make it really easy even for the casual players to use mods and swap them as needed.

One of the often mentioned "I did not buy" reasons is the graphics, I do not blame the developer for focusing on developing, but why not making easier to use other people free graphic work? :)

I did - I use the recolored Germans and the unknown markers. Thank you for your work.

I'll probably work on the inside colors - I'm not a fan of the Soviet colors, and the Luftwaffe blue is like Slovakia's blue helmet band. (sorry - edited - I confused Slovakia with Croatia in the 1st draft)

That said - I'm just learning to play it. My main priority is to get up to speed on everything. It's a great system.

Not yet - I was just poking around to start. These are my 2 quirks; I usually like maps to look more like maps, and, I prefer to see NATO symbols (pre-NATO symbols in this case...). When maps look more "mappy" then you can use more national uniform colored counters. Traditionally, games make the Axis Allies counters look like flavors of gelato.

Therefore, I love mods.

Also, Hellway - did you have to color all 52 counters to change the German color?

What program did you use? That seems like a big project.
