You can find the latest version of the scenario HERE ( V1 6/16/2024)
"Soviet Farm" is small scenario that can be played in 30 minutes or less, with good replayability value. Designed to learn how combined forces work in the attack and defence on the East Front in Summer '42. The Red Army is on the offensive against rear German forces protecting the flank of the Panzer forces headed for Stalingrad. Terrain is typical of the Voronezh area, with sparse hamlets and open terrain favourable to mobile forces.
To install:
1) make sure you upgraded your copy of WEGO Stalingrad to v1.06 or newer.
2) place SovietFarm.png and SovietFarm_thb.png in Documents/MyGames/Stalingrad/maps
3) place SovietFarm.sce and SovietFarm.sum in Documents/MyGames/Stalingrad/scn
No other files are needed. When you start the game it will show up in the scenarios list as "1942 - SovietFarm V1.06+" You will be able to post a challenge on the forum, however your opponent will need to have the game upgraded to v1.06 and install the map as in 2) for the game to look as intended.
Players Notes:
The Red Army has the simpler task to attack, take a small settlement and hold ground against a possible German counterattack. The German commander has the challenging task to resist strong tank forces with his available units or...ask for reinforcements!
HQ, arty and AT units are slower than in the main scenarios. This in order to model their slow logistic trains and the time to set up positions.
Combat is a ittle less bloody than in the Stalingrad scenarios, and results as function of combat ratios more in line with Dupuy's models (in my view at least)
Only regiments can split.
NEW Game Features
OPTIONAL REINFORCEMENTS The Axis player has the option of bringing extra reinforcements (a Heavy Tank battallion and/or an AT battallion, see lower left of the map) at any time, for a VP/turn penalty. How to assign scarce resources was a typical situation on the East Front and also adds a lot of replayability to the scenario. The Axis AI can and will call for reinforcement as well. Note for designers: there a couple of new unit icons to use as "Reinforcements" buttons.
NEW TERRAIN:
Farmland. Representing large fraction of European terrain with a network of small dirt roads, trails, artificial stream and scattered small houses. Tanks will have no shock bonus in 'farmland' terrain.
Open Terrain: same as open steppe in game terms, but not steppe because we are in Russia, not the Caucasus

COMBAT: CRT tables have been slightly modified following more closely Dupuy's combat models at high and low combat ratios. Losses will be a bit lower than in the main Stalingrad scenarios. Moving at night will cost more readiness.
AI: the AI should provide a good challenge, taking advantage of a few new features. It will use all available Ammo and fuel. The new STACK_WITH command has been used to protect HQ and make sure the AI uses concentration of force.
