Fort Jackson (post Farragut bombardment) damage assessment

On doing some more research into the state of Fort Jackson (before and after the Battle of the Fort in April 1862)
(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of ... St._Philip ), I was not surprised to see that the actual damage to the fort was more superficial and far less substantial than originally reported.

Less than a month from the date of battle, on May 5th 1862 it is reported as
"as strong today as when the first Shell was fired at it."
