1861 Blue and Gray One Week Turns Alternate

Post by IslandInland »

This is a simple modification of the stock 1861 Blue and Gray campaign which changes the turn length from Seasonal to 1 week turns.

I created this for myself but I thought I would share it here.

Nothing else other than the turn length has been changed from the default 1861 Blue and Gray Campaign.

After unzipping the download place all the contents of the folder in Documents>My Games>Strategic Command American Civil War>Campaigns.

Thanks for sharing! I was thinking of trying to do the same and now that you have, maybe I'll have something to look at as a guide for one week turns with other SC titles as well.

Much appreciated.

You're welcome. :)

I have uploaded a new version as I made the mistake of changing the Seasonal number to 7 days rather that just making it Daily 7 day turns.

Please download the new version and delete the first version I uploaded.

Thank you very much for this. :)

Can I confirm what effect this has on tech advancement. Has it been slowed given so many more turns or does it mean many more (if not all) techs are achievable within a single campaign ?

I like the fact not all techs can be reached under the default campaign so thought I should check.

Cheers

Ian

Nothing has been changed other than the turn frequency.

Whatever tech advancement is in the stock 1861 Blue and Gray campaign is also in this version. As there are more turns then I suppose there will be more tech advances.

Ah okay.

Thanks for the reply. Just too much tech then for me.

Best of luck with it though.

I really like the weekly turns. It has made for a very interesting game.

It may be too much tech for some, but for me there isn't enough! I ran out of things to research by mid 1863.

Maybe bi-weekly turns might extend things?

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Rick

I can do bi-weekly turns no problem. I'll get right on it.

The editor is quite complicated but it is relatively easy to change the number of turns. I am used to the editors from War in the West and War in the East 2 and they are monsters. :)

Do you mean use them all at the same time?

You can use the map mod all the time with any campaign scenario. One Week Turns and Disabled Partisans are two different scenarios and they cannot be run at the same time.

I will make a One Week Turns with Disabled Partisans just for you...

Here it is.
