Error tryign to start PBEM++ scenario

Trying to start a PBEM+ scenario The Neckar Line with a player online...file is waiting for me to play first turn but I get the following message.

What is up? Game install is on Steam and updated.

Can't speak for my opponent but I hadn't opted in to any beta patches. I just have opted in and it now works.

Good that the error message indicated a variance in versions, but somewhat odd that the it doesn't list one of the versions as a BETA, let alone list it by the name reference in the Steam properties page: v2.1.3.7555.

Yes, the versions it refers to are the internal save game versions, not the public build numbers. Internal is what matters but I will adopt your idea for clarity.

That might have been my bad if you tried to take my game. I should have specified it was the beta.
