Tournament Update #5: Pairing Brackets For Round 1 and Rules Update

Post by MaximKI »

Hello everyone!

Round 1 of the Race for the Caucasus Tournament is starting now and we have the player matchups ready. We'll have a pairing bracket graphic later this week, so stay tuned. As a reminder, it's the contestants' responsibility to reach out to their assigned opponents and coordinate their games. Feel free to use the forum to coordinate with your opponents.

Reminder that Round 1 ends on Jaunary 11th 3:00 PM GMT.

The matchups and assigned sides are as follows:

1. Joch1955 (Soviet) vs terry1040 (German)

2. verdugo94 (Soviet) vs RooksAndKingz (German)

3. S2Tanker (German) vs MacInLew (Soviet)

4. reapagan (German) vs beamslam (Soviet)

5. K62 (Soviet) vs Benassen (German)

6. Liverpoolpacket (Soviet) vs 821Bobo (German)

When setting up your games, please ensure you have the following settings toggled on for both players:
- Fog of War
- Movement FOW
- Lock HQ Support

Also, we'd like to remind you that no Temporary Motorization is allowed during the duration of this tournament.

Because we didn't get up to 16 players this tournament and to ensure a smooth experience we are introducing the following modifications to the rules in tournament progression:

1. We will give an opportunity for the top 2 best-performing players defeated in Round 1 to move on to Round 2 - the Top 8 games. If you refuse this opportunity, we will offer the next defeated player the opportunity to participate in Round 2.
2. The top-performing defeated players will be determined using the in-game VP system. If for some reason we are unable to use this method, tournament judge Joel Billings will give a verdict on who will pass.
3. If you accept this opportunity, you will be matched up with one of the top 2 best-performing victorious players of Round 1.
4. The rest of the winners from Round 1 will be randomly matched up with their opponents in Round 2.

If you have any questions, concerns, or issues, feel free to reach out to MaximKI and/or Joel Billings.

Best of luck to you all!
