Unit pictures

Post by Asparagin »

That does not look so bad, and is also pretty easy to implement. But not sure about the whole copywrite thing..

Looks nice.
Where to put the pictures to get showing in game? On which folder?

Are you using the custom image folders or overwriting the core images in the Common folder? All of this modding will be covered in the Content and Mod guides we are working on and will release over the next few weeks.

Of course I did not overwrite, I noticed what you did there ;)

you need to upload the images of same size as .png in this folder with the correct name:
/Modules/Common/Data/Common/Custom

Cool :)

Is it possible to change the images in the subunit inspector without changing those of the counters at the same time?
I seem to remember that it was possible in Germany Reforger.

I would like to make a little graphic mod to brighten up the subunit inspector.

For images to show in the SUI (Subunit Inspector), you need to place an image (256x128, bmp format) with the same picid from the data table with a "-S" added to the name in the Unit Images folder of the specific nation in the Common/Data/"nation" folder. When the unit is pulled up in the SUI you will see the image. You can also place color sil art for the counters or just replacement counter art (256x128 pixels, png format).

@Ickie, we, as the devs, don't touch color images or photos due to all of the copywriting issues involved. It's enough work just finding and making the black-and-white art for every unit in the game. Modders can go crazy with the stuff.
