Battle Plans, Obstacles, Mines, and IPs

Post by blackcloud6 »

Is there a way to have obstacles, mines, & improved positions be placed in different positions for each battle plan? Or once you place them on the map when creating the scenario, are they always in the same place for each battle plan?

The core idea of battle plans is to fight a single scenario setup (VPs, and map objects) with various avenues of attacks and force allocations. I will have to chat with the team and bring up map objects. I know that is not an easy task as the whole scenario process and save mechanics must change. With this new idea, it may be possible to have "core" map assets and then some BP-specific map assets. I'll keep you posted.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Thanks for taking this under consideration.

I was working on a scenario to have a dug in Czech unit defending an approach to a bridge. There is ridge line that is optimal for defense, and I wanted to try three courses of action for the defenders. defend the ridge on the front slope, defend on the reverse slope and defense forward of the ridge. It would be a prepared defense, but each COA required the mines, wires, obstacle etc. t be in different places.

I'll work something out for the program's current abilities. If the ability to move the obstacles per Battle Plan would come in the future, that would be a further step in scenario replayability.

I will advocate for making these moveable in the context of a BP. Placing these is as important as positioning units.
