Retreat after taking indirect fire (losses)

Post by EwaldvonKleist »

I often find myself in the situation that I want units to keep their advantageous position if receiving direct fire (losses) but not when being the focus of indirect fire. It would be great to have an option to set up this behaviour.

This "ability" has been debated internally several times, and right now, the consensus from the ex-military crew is you really can't "run away" from artillery fire (especially spotted fires that can track your movement). With direct fires, breaking LOS with small displacements works and is an effective SOP item. When you try to outrun indirect fires, in many cases, you sacrifice cover/concealment/defensive positions and move into more open ground, which can result in more losses.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
