This is huge. Is it linked to Windows, a particular GPU, software level?

No idea why.I get loading screen, set up.tactical map, when I click Ok dark screen, and the previous screen shows on lower part of screen, some battles it appears ok,but when I give an order CTD.I have windows 11,processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics 64 bit operating system and processor.I have all WW2 Combat Mission titles from Battlefront and none work.I registered them here thinking the download might work, but does not. They ran fine on my old system from 2015 windows 10.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor is a laptop processor with integrated Radeon graphics processor. You have not told us if your laptop is running a separate dedicated graphics card and is it AMD Radeon or a Nvidia graphics card and what model it is. If it has a separate dedicated graphics card you should check the graphic cards software to make sure that it recognizes your combat mission games other wise it may default to the integrated graphics processor on your 5600H chip which will not be powerful enough to run the game.

I have a ASUS Rog Stix laptop with Combat Mission - Black Sea, Cold War and Red Thunder installed and they run smooth.

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H (with integrated Radeon graphics processor)
Display: 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 300Hz
Graphics: Dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 with 4GB memory
Memory:32GB
Windows 10

On my laptop if I don't configure the Nvidia software to run the games, it defaults to the Radeon software and some 3D games will crash after startup or be sluggish.

Cheers

How to do do this? Telling Nvidia to run Combat Mission? Just want to double check my setup.

Thank you

You will have to go to the Nvidia control panel if you have a Nvidia card in your Laptop.

Here you can set the default to use Nvidia instead of the internal graphics. I think it is under "manage 3d settings". I had to do this in my old laptop only once. After that the Nvidia card was always used.

Perhaps you need first to install the Nvidia drivers If you do not have the Nvidia control panel (Nvidia icon left to your clock). But be sure that you really have a seperate Nvidia card in your laptop.

One way of doing it is from the Windows Setting screen. Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics Setting (all the way at the bottom of the screen). In the Graphics Setting dialog, under choose app to set preference select Desktop App then click browse and locate the executable for the game. Once added, click on options and select from the choices provided, see below this is from my old desktop where I only have one card.

A second way might be possible. On my laptop, which has an NVida card, I'm also able to right click on the executable and select from the popup menu.

Finally, AMD and NVida have utilities for configuring applications to use a particular card.

Thanks a lot, I have made the modification so that Windows don't decide.

There are problems with AMD drivers for Combat Mission. Rolling back to an older driver might help.

https://community.battlefront.com/topic ... in/page/6/

Sucks for people with AMD GPUs and you usually need the latest driver if you play other (newer) games.

This is what I have and these games do not work on it. It would be nice if Matrix provided a patch for it:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U with AMD Radeon Graphics 2.00 GHz
Display: 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 300Hz
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Memory:500 GB
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (13.9 GB usable)
Windows 11 Pro

I'm not 100% sure. But you have an integrated videocard which is perhaps not powerfull enough. You have a AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 (internal). For gaming you is is always best to have a dedicated videocard. Most of the time integrated one doesn't suffice as it uses the system memory as the dedicated VRAM is too small.

There is a warning on the system requirements tab on the store page. It says the following:
***IMPORTANT*** Not all Intel integrated video cards will play the game.

Perhaps this holds also for the integrated AMD graphics?
