After a few nothing but up side down turns. I lost russia. I lost china. I also was about to lose spain. So i threw in the towel. I told my opponent i'd fight till the united states because it would be cool but it wouldn't be cool. I was so outclassed by japan and germany that it was just going to take 2 more weeks to lose with a massive invasion on the east and west coast at the same time. I'm going to play a rematch with him and try combined arms and taking what you guys have told me about. I greatly appreciate all the advice and hopefully everyone has been in my shoes before.

Thanks for the AAR - and trust me there is no reason to build more than a few cargoships in India or anywhere outside of Britain and the U.S. If you can't figure it out let me know and I can try to explain how you can do whatever you are trying to accomplish with all those cargoships - seriously they are a waste of your production.

Great AAR. I too am having a rough time learning the ropes in AT (I have not won a PBEM game yet... 0 for 4), but I keep trying and I hope that I am getting a bit better. The tips from the pro's are worth their weight in gold.

You have terrible AS losses !!
That´s a problem you have to solve.
1. Find the place you had the losses
2. Figure out what caused the losses
3. Can you attack and eliminate the threat soon ?
4. If answer on point 3 is no then you have to send you production to
a save place. No routing oversea where the german subs get their hands on.
In a game vs. Tweber (while playtesting early WaW) i cleaned the atlantic by US DD´s and blocked all
ways into the atlantic by own air covered naval vessels. This works well and after a short time
i had no AS losses on the route from Canada to Great Britain.
Unfortunately your opponent seems to have a very strong Navy and you lost most of yours.
You really need the US production and then fight for naval superiority starting from USA.
But for now: AVOID the AS losses. Letting the production in the USA is better than lose them in the atlantic transfer.

Game #2!
The situation so far. This time i am focusing on building Arty as well as building a navy i can't lose controll of it again or i am finished. Any ideas what i should use to defend russia & india from japan?
ALso with china i built nothing but conscripts but his arty destroyed me any ideas?

For China, consider some range 2 artillery (if you have those in this version). Stay out of Jap bomber range if possible or add some flak. Target his arty if you get the chance.
Or build one fortress each on the roads to your production cities. There aren't many, and these are the most vulnerable areas.
Also consider building some small but fast (mounted) units. In the north, you might catch him by surprise and cut his supply lines.
A unit with a single flak, placed in the mountains *behind* your main line can help a fat lot against the few planes the Japanese have.
Build one light tank and let him see it. Hope he will react and build mediums, which IMHO means wasted money.
Send a one-man expedition to Manchuria, along the Soviet border where he has no recon. He'll see his borders move east. Force him to investigate and divert troops.
Stay away from coastal hexes. He has 8 battleships with a lot of time on their hands.
If you feel lucky, build a transport plane and a small (or even one-man) para unit. Drop it outside his fighter screen. Perhaps he forgot to garrison Korea? Probably not, but you get the idea.
Keep a small, fast armored force (armored cars AND SOME INFANTRY perhaps) on the two main roads, behind your lines. Don't show them or he'll bomb them to bits. When he breaks through there, and sooner or later he will, counterattack immediately.
Stuff like that. Pinpricks and diversions. If you're unpredictable, he might become too careful. That could buy you some time and that's the best you can probably do.

So i whoudl just leave them in HQ for 2 turns then send them out? or if i leave them in HQ their Xp gets diluted with new recruits? so should i just form a unit and keep it back for two turns so it doesn't get diluted in the HQ pool?
