The Allies Bitterly surrender.

The Eastern Front

The war on the Eastern Front is lost as Kharkov is surrounded and under siege, Kursk evacuated and Stalingrad surrendered. Only Moscow remains in Allied hands.

Middle East/North Africa

The Axis have liberated Algeria/Tunisia and Iran.

The Western Front

The Allies have decided to surrender as we are unable to take Paris. Despite occupying 4/6 hexes around the city for most of the summer, 12x Bomber strikes in 10+ supply each turn and countless attacks from our strongest ground units we can only muster 2-3 damage points per round. It is more then I can stomach at this late part of the war.

More details to follow but after my opponent accepts victory. I apologize for the abrupt end, I had wanted to wait for Moscow to fall originally before formal surrender but I was becoming frustrated with the inability to destroy an out of supply Corps over the course of a summer. Clearly frustrated to the point I no longer want to continue.

Interesting game. It's surprising that Axis economy is so strong compared to allies in 1943. This doesn't seem historical at all. Even given the territory axis holds they shouldn't be able to match allied war economy of US & USSR much less Commonwealth.

Axis income was high I agree in this version (8.4). This has been adjusted downward in the most recent version (9.1) as I've been collecting private feedback from a couple of PBEM pairs who have played a few rounds of the most recent versions and some other tweaks as well to increase Soviet MPP, and increased Strategic Bomber range to target Axis industry.

Hello everyone!
Sorry for my late answer.
Yes, i fully understand Crispy's reasons for surrender and i accept it.
I will try to write an end Full Report for this game very soon.
I will try to give my "reason" to this victory.
Let me tell you that i don't agree with the comments above "German's income is very high". Maybe Allied income was "low". I don't know. But I only started to feel "trust" in victory in the last year and only because soviets became "weak" (i will try to explain myself better tomorrow).
In a few word: Germany's defeat was "sure" during all the game but... if you make Germany more weak... i don't know how can they win... Maybe i am not a good player but i didn't feel that my victory was sure until 1944 (and after the desperate offensive of the Soviets around Kharkov).
But, tomorrow i will try to write.
Thank you very much Crispy, for the game.
If you want to change sides, i am agree with that.
Thanks you guys for follow this AAR!

I will do a larger write up as well.
For clarity the Axis income was higher then I thought it could get to, but it is was not the deciding factor in victory. My opponent outplayed me for the win!

I wonder if the italians could have been knocked out of the war if you would have went to sicily right away instead of chasing DAK accross algeria.

I'm kind of reassured that the Axis won this one because it seemed it had made fail too many Allied plans to warrant a defeat. Had the allies still won despite everything it wouldn't have look too good on balance between the two side. :)

The British had chased the DAK across as Plan B. The Allies lost near 10 Naval Units in the Mediterranean trying to make space for an amphibious invasion, Axis bombers were far reaching from Sicily and Southern Italy. It was a hot mess, my Air Force was not set to be a force in strength until the spring of 1944, without adequate cover I had to call off the invasion.

And yes you are correct, it would be a shame if I could still win even as the Axis won their decisive victories!

I was thinking in september 42. You had a lot of American transports in the area and Sicily seemed ripe to be overrun (1 figther, a maritime bomber, a strategic bomber, a HQ and a corp).
