As long as you are having fun, enjoying the game, plus learning so you will/are become a better player. I am sure that others are reading this as well and you can always show what you have, the situation, state what you want to do but then ask for help/suggestions for other possible operations then other people might chime in.

Keep reporting though and showing what is going on. You are an inspiration to me, heck I might even try a PBEM!

Got my sweeps in but weather cancelled the Jill attack. It would have been interesting to see what was there. I was betting that those damaged planes had been moved there. Might have been a pretty good strike IF IF IF.

Make sure that your DD TF is the lowest number, then the CAs, then the BBs.

If you are still in range of any Australian bases with Resources even, are you trying to bomb the for the VPs?

Early/Mid 1943 Strategy?

Post by RADM.Yamaguchi »

Turns are slowing down again despite the fact that they go faster and faster for me to complete.

I realize i'm in a bad way regarding supplies and fuel. I know from the get go that i was doing a lot. I've only recently realized how much. So i think it's time, perhaps belatedly, to reign in things.

I seem to be in very good shape naval wise having only lost 1CV,1CVL,1BB,1CS,2CA,7CL,14DD and 17SS against 6CV,1CVL,1CVE,12BB,12CA,22CL,90DD,29SS, AND 49AO/TK.

I'm thinking of sitting back looking for opportunities to sink invasion forces rather than what i am doing raiding and trying to sink more ships. Perhaps i should have been bombing industry but i hate to think of losing my good pilots attacking HI and LI in heavily defended areas.

The N. Pacific looks okay. I've got a destroyer squadron and lots of misc naval support vessels and subs. Three full divisions and lots of smaller units with lots of HQs. And the equivalent of a begining KB as far as air power.

Thin of how many VPs you get from bombing industry, not to mention Resources. Think of how many supplies would not be made in Australia that will then have to be shipped in. The pilots doing that don't have to be your best anti-naval pilots, just good at ground bombing. If you play against the computer, the computer will try to repair each one so think of just how many more supplies that takes.

You can slow down and conserve supplies and fuel and designate some LCUs to his potential invasion sites so you can counter-land as he is highly disabled and trying to rebuild the forts, ports and airbases. He will be most vulnerable then and a highly prepped division landing on an Atoll after he had just fought hard to take it should flip it back into your column and slow down his offensive as he probably didn't have additional LCUs prepped to take it back.

Thing about the Aluetians, and really most forward bases is that they can be bypassed so easily, so early...making evacuating the forces so difficult.

Not saying don't defend there, just saying be careful.

RE: Early/Mid 1943 Strategy?

Post by RADM.Yamaguchi »

ORIGINAL: Bif1961

You can slow down and conserve supplies and fuel and designate some LCUs to his potential invasion sites so you can counter-land as he is highly disabled and trying to rebuild the forts, ports and airbases. He will be most vulnerable then and a highly prepped division landing on an Atoll after he had just fought hard to take it should flip it back into your column and slow down his offensive as he probably didn't have additional LCUs prepped to take it back.
good advice i will do that.

Thing about the Aluetians, and really most forward bases is that they can be bypassed so easily, so early...making evacuating the forces so difficult.

Not saying don't defend there, just saying be careful.

i'll try to be careful. The aluetians always seemed a little too close to the home islands to me.

You don't need to convert DDs to APD, they are more effective as DDs in a fight and they can still carry some troops and supplies. You need all of the DDs that you can get and then even more.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

If the Allied ASW gets to be a little rough, you can lower the subs threat tolerance and hopefully that will help the subs survivve. They can still be used for an early warning system. If used as an early warning system, check what spots them in regards to LBA, float planes, and/or carrier planes as well as their DL level.
