Same as WITP - 1024x768 Full Screen and Windowed.

So just to clarify. Those of us with widescreen monitors (23" 1920-1080 native res) will have to put up with everything stretched out like we have in WITP currently? Or will AE support widescreen without stretching everything out?

Please tell me it will support wide screen. I can deal with it on a game that's five years old (current WITP), but to have to dump 70$ on a new game in 2009 that doesn't even support widescreen resolutions is unacceptable.

I hope I'm wrong here. Please clarify.

Even though I'm playing on a 17" Widescreen at 1440 x 900 pixels it honestly doesn't bother me. Guess its no different than seeing movies on TV that haven't been edited to fit the normal screen...you end up with a nice black border around it. I've gotten used to it I guess.

I guess I've just gotten really mellow about grahics over the years. [8D]

I honestly don't understand the problem with graphics...

My PC runs at 1680x1050 and is a 21" not some Lil 19" nor a Tiny Tot 17"
[:D]

Of course game runs at different Res but I don't play game windowed so it runs full screen and fills that 21"

Hi,

No...I got everything "right" during checkout. It's something Wells Fargo does...automatically blocks any/all foreign purchases when you use a debit card. What's funny is that not only was the transaction declined, but I got a call from the fraud department about the purchase! That's when I found out that Matrix processed the transaction "offshore." PayPal...being in the USA...doesn't have this problem.

I suspect not all banks do this, but if a big bank like Wells Fargo does...others probably do, too.

So you then use a different card/bank to buy.

However if matrix does it offshore thats odd....
sure its not actually Digital River?

Everyone, the best way to fix a Members Club account that you've lost the login info for is to use our Help Desk at www.matrixgames.com/helpdesk. You should get a reply within 24 hours. Provide as much info as you can as far as your old account/e-mail, serial number, current account/e-mail, etc.

Erik, I've done this, twice over the last few weeks; and sent reminders. Nothing's happened. I gave them the serial number and as much other info as I could - old email address etc, and I've had nothing back.
AE looks and sounds like my dream game, as WITP did when it came out, and I have nothing but admiration for the guys who've put it together. I just want to get my account and game registration sorted beforehand so I can devote the rest of my life to playing it............

As I brought it up originally I free Erik from the tedious task of answering this same Q again and again :)...

So the answer is unfortunately that it won't support widescreen, but in the future it might happen. For details please see the other thread here with graphics and resolution title.

Thanks,

TalonCG2,

If you run the game in windowed mode it won't look stretched out. It won't fill the whole screen, but it won't be stretched looking either. That's what I do on my laptop.

To be honest if my son wasn't in such a hands-on stage (he'll be 3 next month) I would return to the team and put my time in. But if I do that the wife will go crazy and I'll wake up dead one morning. We can't have that now can we ?

I think I’ll just concentrate my thoughts on getting up to speed with AE for now, because for me AE is the game of my foreseeable future.

Thanks for the news!

After you install AE can you then uninstall WITP with no detriment then to playing AE on its own? Seems a waste of hard drive space to have both if you are only going to play AE.

Yea I had the same question in this thread - tm.asp?m=2162779&mpage=2&#2164666.

Seems you need to keep it installed... [8|]

Jim,

Our CC transactions go through Digital River and as far as I know they process them in the US, in Minnesota. We have lots of CC sales going through without a problem every day, issues like you describe are extremely rare and almost always due to some kind of mistake on the part of the customer's bank. If you have any problems with your purchase of WITP AE, just e-mail me directly at erikr@matrixgames.com and I'll get our team at DR on it right away.

Regards,

- Erik

I wish I had a 21". As I'm getting older its becoming more of a necessity than a luxury though. Haven't checked to make sure its running in full screen mode, which may explain the black border on the sides. I'll check on that and give it a try if its not already set that way. [:D]

I have an Apple Cinema 30" Monitor with my display set at 1280 x 800. I run WITP in windows mode. I end up with a 20" x 16" rectangle for Witp with no stretching of the screen or blurring of the text. Plus I have some screen left over for my Excel spreadsheet. It took a lot of experimenting to settle on the 1280 x 800 resolution.

Many thanks in advance to the volunteers who created AE. I live in New Jersey (like Xargun I think) and drove out to origins to get my copy of Witp the first day it was available. I'd do it again if that would get me AE a little bit earlier. As far as price, it would have to be in the thousands of dollars before I would consider not buying it.

Nope I still live in Ohio - about 30 minutes from Columbus which makes Origins a nice and easy trip.

It's no biggie. When AE comes out, I'll just use Pay Pal instead. I don't want my CC put under "fraud watch" by my bank like happened last time!
